so i have just built an ivybridge machines and taking some parts from my old pc
the ssd/hdd and graphics card
i put the ssd in thinking it would force me to reinstall windows 8 but it was happy to let me load :confused:

is this due to the hyper-v and if so should i reinstall windows 8 or do you guys think its fine

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it all depends on how many parts change, it's a number, too many major parts and it's a reinstall, you must be on the limit now, so one more maybe and your pc will ask for another key.

if it works, leave it, just bare in mind that another part change you may not be so lucky

to me it just seems weird only parts that are the same are hdd/ssd and graphics card XD

no rhyme or reason either, normally m/b change means re install or new key etc

Just make sure to uninstall all dirvers and chipset associated with your last mobo and then install the new mobo drivers, etc and you should be okay.
