If you were just waiting for new maps, theres plenty of awesome custom maps out there 
well will suck without conc's i'm afraid
Well its not the original Well
so it doesnt really need concs. It could do with another way in though imo... bit hard to get in sometimes when a team decides to defend with all their players >.<Symian Cage have a decent custom map server although its a 32 player one so some of the maps get a bit saturated :\
Aside from that its mostly the clan servers that run custom maps, just have to look around for them

i absolutely love CTF, and find it much more interesting than CP maps. So far ive been limited to 2fort, which legions of players either love or hate. Those that love it can be found on the packed 32 player Fun Fortress 24/7 2fort servers, those that hate it leave the normal servers as soon as it comes into rotation. Was playing on the Multiplay 2fort / dustbowl only server. When 2 fort came on everybody left. Was only 3 people on the server
CTF Well appears to be getting a lot of playtime though. But its such a huge map to defend properly. You need at least 3 sentrys to properly defend it. One inside either door. Slap bang in the middle of the doorway so the spys cant get past them to knife you, and a 3rd one on the staircase behind to stop the spys getting behind you.
And even then, the spys can just cloak past you to get inside, and once they get the intel towards the door, it becomes almost impossible to stop it creeping its way out with a decent attacking team.
I updated my TF2 and gave Well CTF a go.
Maybe it's just me, but i found it so very boring. Both Blu and Red were defending with sg's and after a long time with the scoreline still showing 0-0, i got so bored I went back to dustbowl.
I like the new stairs indoors just beyond the water, but I don't think the map is a good ctf/intel map. it just seems like such a massive distance to travel with the intel compared to something like fort.

Youll struggle to find a worst mad thats on any server! I never knew it was from Halo but I guess that explains why it sucks so much Such a bad map >.> I guess all the Sniper kiddies love it because of the big open areas but it looks bad, plays bad and is just plain bad! BAD!
ctf_well is ok but like you say, it can get difficult to get in :/ really need a decent player or two with medics to blast their way in to get the flag.

but I agree with you, CTF > CPgive the map some more time
ive played about 7 or 8 games of this map, and only 1 of them got to stale mate. And even the stalemate didnt last forever, eventually everybody got bored defending (we had 6 engineers on a 10 man team) and went attacking. Then the other team won 3-0 as we had no defence !

again dustbowl is still my favourite but beginning to like ctf well. Not found any other maps bar the offical ones that I like.
Valve just seem to make the most awesome maps no two places look the same were as I find the custom maps have no locations as visual hints and reminders to where you are. Repeative textures seem to be the worst culprits on most custom maps it just looks samey.
