NEW Titan Pascal (full 3840 shaders) just announced!

Did look at this but to be honest my 1080 (purchased on release) is holding up fine on my 1440p 144hz monitor. Will wait for a couple of generations to pass before I upgrade as I won't be tempted to part with my cash until there is at least a 50% performance increase for a single card.

This has got to one of the strangest threads I have read for a long time.

So much Titan hate for a card that most people won't even considering getting.

who else has had enough? like I seriously contemplated selling both my titan xp and 1080 and just using my gtx 950 until I need a card to actually game
Why? You still have a very capable card, so what if NV now released a slightly faster version of it?. I have one too and am happy NV are releasing faster stuff - it'll also mean when I upgrade again the jump will likely be bigger from what I have. I was tempted yesterday to pick one up as would love to compare it like for like via my own testing with the old TXP, and then again in a 6700 vs 3770k system to see what differences a moden CPU really makes but no it will be a costly exercise and probably 10% anyway we can guess from the extra cores and faster memory in the same system

Its really simple Kaap, even though most in here wont be getting it, it still has major influence of what happens to the gpu's below it and that in turn affects everyone. That and there are always those moaning while in secret wishing for the card. You know the hypocrites.

I have done just that and it has been just fine outside of a few freesync bugs. Do i miss the 1070's performance i had before, yes, do i miss nvidia and the **** they kept pulling, no not really. The only thing AMD has been guilty of is being slow and while that by itself can get very annoying and outright anger inducing at times its nothing compared to the shady business practices and anti consumer behavior of nVidia and Intel. Its like some people in here have stockholm syndrome.
Gotta disagree with that, they're all in the same business. If AMD doing things differently it's because their position is not that of the competition - they'd probably be exactly the same otherwise to help maximise profits. I think it's one reason people like to support the underdog but if the underdog ever become the top dog they end up being disliked for the same reasons IMO.

He bought an older Titan XP used last week so it's understandable he's gonna be folked off as the 2nd hand value on the older one will drop at least £100 now.

Ive never said AMD wouldn't turncoat if they were in a position to do so. Never have i said AMD would stay a "saint" forever. But what if's dont apply here. I was pointing out was has happened so fare and what is currently happening and therefor i believe i am perfectly correct in my statement. You are somehow taking my comment and pulling a meaning out of it that was never intended nor even discussed/mentioned. I agree that they are all business's and they are there to make money but thats as fare as i am going to agree. There are many ways of doing so and one is ******* on the customer for maximum profit until people have had enough and another would be to maintain a loyal costumer base through sincere products and customer support. nVidia does not really fit into the later and neither does intel as of late imho.

Look at it another way. If Nvidia had refrained from making a titan until now ( lets assume they had to stockpile the full core gpus that made the grade) then people would have been complaining their 1080 isnt good enough and Nvidia was holding back.
End of the day you want the new card buy it if you dont then be happy with what you have, Your current gpu isnt suddenly going to preform worse in games just because a faster one was released

Intel and Nvidia have zero respect for their customer base, Having been on Intel and Nvidia for the last 6 years I've seen this all too much.
I know NVidia disrespecting their customers by only now having offered the fastest six or so consumer gpu's released compared to the competition who still haven't released something that can competently compete with a 980ti..... (currently passing hands 2nd hand for a shade over £200...bargain)Good to see the AMD white knight brigade out in force to defend their saviour... AMD who they believe will save them from Intel/Nvidia tyranny by offering them low prices out of the goodness of their hearts as opposed to due to reality of mostly playing catch up with their competitors' for a few years now..... (its a good thing there's a dose of collective amnesia re some previous pricing of AMD/ATI products when they weren't lagging behind or else the cognitive dissonance might cause some people some real discomfort!)

crazy price for top end card... Hardly surprising considering there's nothing.... Absolutely nothing any where near it from a competitor performance wise.

can't say I feel particularly sorry for 1080ti owners who people think should be aggrieved at only having the top dog card for less than a month. The original cut down titan x(pascal) was a clear hint that a 'full fat' card ala titan black was in the wings and hell how many of them would really spend the extra ££££'s for the txp anyway?

A full fat card was always coming but I didn't expect this quick in fairness but I don't think it really bothers those of us who waited for the Ti and skipped the TXP (or shouldn't). I am over the moon with the speed of the 1080Ti and that is all I care about.

No.

Nothing to do with white knighting, Cognitive dissonance etc.....I just don't like these business practices as of late.

offering a selection of high performing cards whilst the competition is (currently) no where to be seen at the top end?

much cheaper options than the txp are available from NVidia that still eclipse anything from the competition....

you pays your money and makes your choices....

I don't know but I think the biggest "turn off" by people regarding the new Titan isn't really the card or the price itself, but the naming of the card.

We got Maxwell Titan X and then Pascal Titan X came. People got confused about two X's, so the pascal inofficially was baptized GTX Titan XP by people and the media. Now nVidia make a Pascal Titan X upgrade and calling it Titan Xp - something the community have called it for almost a year, and making the confusion total. nVidia haven't manage to differentiate the new Titan card enough from the older version both regarding to some specs but mostly due to naming (I think).
I'm sure had nVidia called it GTX Titan X Black (like the old Titan Black), then it probably would have slipped below the "hate radar".

However I still think nVidia made two boot kicks to the face of GTX Titan X16 owner, first with 1080Ti, and then with titan Xp.

I've had my Titan X Pascal for 8+ months at this point, which cost me £1180 including the hybrid kit.
That's a really, really long time to wait for a card which is at best 10% faster clock-for-clock.
I could upgrade to this, but Pascal's getting a bit long in the tooth. Seems strange to drop that kind of money this late into a generation of cards.

Well, as a original Titan XP (Mk1) owner and someone who isn't fully in the loop of GFX, I'm somewhat shocked by this Titan XP (Mk2) announcement - When I bought the TXP (Mk1), it was under the basis that this was the king of cards, yes I'm fully aware that a Ti variant of the 10 series would come along and eclipse, if not match the TXP, but the point was I was buying the very best of what the company could offer, however it seems this was somewhat of a lie and they were holding out, low and behold there is a new TXP-Mk2 which is what my card should have been, it cost me over £1000 for christs sake.

Before anyone says it, yes I fully expect NVidia to move the Titan cards along, so a new Titan X based on a better architecture is fine, I would expect that, but not a new Titan X in the same series as mine.

I have a GSync monitor, so for now I am 'bought in' to NVidia, but my loyalty is being tested with this announcement. I won't be such a rush to get NVidia in the future.

^^

Very true.

Had TXP since launch which seems a long, long time ago.

This is typical tactical marketing to bleed as much money as possible out of customers who always want the best. Its a bit shocking and so blatent that it makes me worry for the next few generations of GPUs. What ever happened to the 60, 70, 80 logic. Low, Mid and high range, all these other iterations that are very slightly more powerful than the last stinks of Nvidia holding back power to milk customers all they can, it's a joke in my eyes
They're definitely trying to grab some well-off gamers who need/want the best, but they are also not called GeForce cards for a reason.

This is essentially a P6000 with half the vRAM and for 1/4 of the price. Even the P5000(GP104-based) is nearly $2000. Basically, this is going to be more attractive as a budget prosumer card than for gamers who Nvidia know are going to largely flock to the 1080Ti for their high end needs.
