New to PC's budget £2000-£2500

Spending more money on expensive parts in the name of future proofing is idiotic.

My mate spent £2500 just on his desktop 2 years ago and then spent another £100 upgrading the cpu and another £50 upgrading the ram and my pc is better than his yet cost less than £1k. How is this possible? I upgrade my parts regularly and sell on the old parts so the upgrades cost pennies. I also buy parts second hand if I deem them to be value for money in terms of age, cost, warranty, wear, etc.

Spend less and upgrade often and go for value for money.

The 2080 super is 25% faster than a 5700xt however it is 100% more expensive.

So for every £1 you spend on it after a certain point you are getting only 25p worth of additional performance. So you are throwing away 75p for every £1 is how I look at it after a certain point.

Corsair ram is crap. Don't buy it it. Get crucial Ballistix LT sport instead.

The LG monitor whilst great. The better monitor you buy the more expensive a pc you need to run it. The difference honestly isn't as great as reviews make out.

If you are playing online fps games mainly then a 1080p 27" 144-240hz monitor only requires a £200 gpu to power it.

4k 60hz requires a £1000 gpu to run with all the bells and whistles.

Resolution honestly isn't a big deal. I game at 1440p and I have gamed at 4k and 1080p it's not noticeable in the fast paced online fps I play at all.

So you can save huge money by going lower res with no loss in perceived quality. If you play mainly single player then sure go 1440p.

144hz I would say is a must these days anything over that isn't really necessary however it does smooth out fast panning motions.

I game at 165hz and no real difference between that and 144hz. I'd say go 144hz or make the jump to 240hz if you are really into fps.

Personally my recommendation is

3600
5700xt
Cheap B550 motherboard so you can upgrade to 4600 on launch
16gb ddr4
1tb nvme if you need more space then buy a 1tb ssd sata drive when you get down to 30% left on the nvme.
Corsair case and buy additional fans they tend to be cheap and have great airflow when additional fans are added.
500w Gold rated psu

Your choice of peripherals but keep in mind that it's better to play at ultra than a slightly higher res at medium.

@sparx Do you get a bag of screws to connect the motherboard inside the case with the case? Because in the case there weren't any...

Beneath it? You shouldn’t have anything at the top of the case inside.

Motherboard will go straight in. Make sure you’ve fit what you can on the board outside the case first. Like install the CPU, RAM, M.2 SSD drive, the AIO mounting plate etc. Then put the motherboard in the case when that’s all in. Makes it much easier.

Then your AIO/radiator will fit at the front of the case, rad first then fans after.

Yes. You keep those still on as they are mounted at the front outside the case between the mesh front panel.

You mount that AIO from the inside against the front, so in effect what it will do is create a ‘push/pull’ effect.

The case fans already there will be ‘intake’ pushing cold air through to cool down your radiator. Then the fans you attach to the radiator will be pulling that air through the case and your rear fan preinstalled will exhaust the hot air out. :)

Can't really tell from here what you mean or if the thread is dodgy on it :p

Just make sure you slot the drive in sideways to the slot, should just slide in gently and rest it down - then put the mobo's heatsink cover over it and should screw down (permitting your holes are aligned etc)

Look after that tiny little drive, that is where all of your data will be! No longer on a fat 3.5" metal disk drive ;)
