Had no idea ford had input into the design, I would have thought Jaguar used a Ford to conduct all road testing.

Given how Ford owned Jag whatever Ford wanted was what Jag wanted.
And both wanted to have the car to be designed in secret, hence why TWR used the transit for all the on road testing of the engine

The stig changes depending on the task required.

Same as the Renault F1 car, it was just renaults test driver with the white suit + helmet on.
