Looks decent.
Wrong. Looks far far inferior.
Looks decent.
Don't understand the hate for this, looks like a fairly decent remake.
I recently watched the original again and my rose tinted glasses came off, it has not aged well, still a fun watch though.
Will be watching this at the cinema for sure.
..and ripping off fifth element just makes me facepalm.
It looks like a carbon copy of the original, with ideas from other films thrown in. If you are going to remake something, do it differently. Len Wiseman is not a good film maker, so I guess it's no surprise he has no ideas of his own.
I watched the original a few nights ago from the beginning (instead of my usual trick of remembering intently the last 20 mins and having no idea how the film got there, almost unable to recall how I got the memories......).
The original was a hilarious ride of sci-fi, bad action and hilarious unintentional jokes/puns. Danny De Vito with Arnie is just a magical film combination, plus I jumped about when they actually said "total recall" in the dialogue
Perfect 80s/90s awesome film.
Why an Irishman is playing Arnies role in some pointless remake is beyond me. The trailer looks polished but it smacks a bit of just slapping a classic film around the room a little bit and hoping no one will remember how things used to be... (I resent remakes, the Italian job one annoyed me intensely)
It's not even set on Mars?
The new movie is based on the Philip K Dick short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale". Please don't assume it's simply a 'remake' of the Arnie cheesefest, because it isn't.
No they don't go to Mars, but they didn't in the original story either.
