New toy (and pics of my 'portable' setup...)

Christ alive, this has got to be the most pointless argument I've ever seen on here...

To be honest I see where badbob is coming from, and I respect his knowledge in hifi and that sort of stuff, Rockbox is a great piece of software, but it's not for everyone. I think penski knows what he wants and it suits him well, so it might be better to just leave it and all?

Again, I make the breast analogy - They're wonderful things. I just have no need for them. :D

Penski,

I've got the same mp3 player and was thinking about a headphone amp for my Grados. I don't know much about them but is it really for driving headphones that need a lot of input or does it make much difference in sound quality to smaller, easier to power headphones, if you've tried?

Also, how long does the battery last, if you've had it long enough to drain it?

JM

What model Grados are they? What's the impedence?

I'd say it's worth it because you're not running the player flat out all the time...The amp allows you to wind the player in a bit and let the amp take care of the volume. :)

Oh penski if you stick with stock firmware, use the US or Korean firmware, as the volume cap is removed (UK has it) for line out/headphone socket.

You do know why I started this thread don't you...? Volume isn't really an issue any more. ;)
