Picked it up last night and took it for an MOT this morning.
Just a few bits and bobs for the retest and I can start playing with the engine :D

Paintwork is dull, but otherwise the engine runs sweet (2.0 pinto)
And best of all the shell is incredibly solid, tester commented on it. Couple of small blisters in the boot is all.
Not bad for a 29 year old car :)

Square lights will be changed for the round jobbies with grill to suit.

Got some decambered single leaf rear springs to go on it and bilsteins to suit.
need to get some lowering springs and 2.8 legs for the front.
Then a stage 1 head and a fast road cam to get the power up a tad.

A grand for a solid mk2 2 door? lolercaust 3kish was the price.
A good condition rs will set you back *** better part of 8 grand these days.
W reg 1980
Interior is a bit tatty, but should clean up well and the bloke I bought it off threw in some trims pieces.

Nice.

Put in an engine that isn't crap and you're laughing ;)

As much as I like mkII scrotes, I just couldn't pay the going rate for one. Far too expensive.

They make stupid money.

Blame the Irish.

I've seen rotten mkII two doors that have been sat in a field for the last 20 years make two grand before...

As much as it pains me to say it, 3 grand is probably about right these days

Gutting isn't it, my mate paid £3500 for this in 2003:

Genuine never welded Harrier, 2.1 Pinto conversion on twin 45's, alloy tank, cage etc.

Try finding one like that for 3k now!

Now this is more like it, bloody brilliant stuff! That Harrier takes me back as it was top of the 'want' tree with the RS2000 and then I got banned! Such fun with tail out fun by the bucket load and so many options. Full Zakspeed route and a Group 2 lump with 280BHP for me please!

I aint driving all the way to the states pal :p
If you're ever back over the right side of the pond you're more than welcome however ;)

After a stage 1 or 2 head plus a fast road/rally cam for it if anyone knows of any going second hand anywhere :)

I'll have a dig around with you...My dad may have something stashed away from his Boy Racer days (mkII Scrotes before he moved onto mkII Golfs...)

Don't muck around with stage blah blah heads and a hot cam on carbs, just drop a yb in there and get some proper power. ;)

Car looks like an excellent starting point chap. Hope you learn to love breaking down in an old ford. :D
