New Trainers

I was more alluding at Mr Motivator being the retro trainer. Didn't even notice he had a pair of pumps on lol :D

The only trainers I can remember having were Adidas ZX's, Hi-Tec Silver Shadows, Air Max Puma Argentinas, Adidas Sambas and Nike Air Jordans as a nipper in the 80s.

I was on about his leotard not his trainers

I don't want to go into what trainers I had as a kid, it upsets me :/

I was brought up the Scouse way for trainers thankfully and always had decent trabs. Apart from a pair of Troop basketball boots with a massive gold badge which were just hideous and totally wrong..

I remember big buck-toothed geordie on holiday trying to push me in a swimming pool when I was about 9 and I had a brand new pair of Adidas ZX series on. I must have looked like some kind of acrobat as I flipped and jumped around to make sure my trabs didn't get a soaking!

That's what I mean, I had some absolute stunners when I was a kid :(

I also had the Troops but mine had a silver badge :D

Excellent trainers them :D

I think mine had a silver badge come to think of it. On black elastic, a big huge fake metal badge.

They also had clear plastic 'air' pockets in the sole that were rock hard and were not actually air pockets.

I think they have actually re-launched as a brand too...

Aye I remember the 'air bubble' :D

I also remember some kind of urban myth that of you cut the sole open it had racist remarks on the inside :D:D

Oh man, memory lane you just sent me down YSMN :D

I thought I was old but listening to you guys, I feel a lot better :p

Wish I grew up in the 80's though and could appreciate the great trainers of the time!

Like these, where from?

Trainers in the 80s were either the Adidas trainers that they are re-issuing now while laughing at the fact that they no longer have to pay a designer and just get a computer to pick random colourway combos or mahoosive basketball boots. Nike just did weird x-training shoes and some Cortez stuff before going all air max crazy in the 90s
