New TV - Yes or No?

Just had a look at one of these in Curry's. They look brilliant. It's either this or an LG C2. I won't be gaming on it so no real need for the LG.
I'm leaning toward this - just waiting until January sales in hope they knock these down.
Not interested in the Samsungs.

@turbot1984 have you decided which you're going for?
Not yet ... loads of family over for chrimbo so demo will have to wait.

Going into a shop isn’t very good advice strangely. You need to have a proper demo, ideally one with known settings.

However… at £1500 for a 65” 4K OLED why am I not binning my old plasma?! Sounds like a great time to upgrade. Can’t go far wrong demo or not!

I disagree. You just have to be careful with it.
Ask to see same content, like YT 4k vids, look at setting etc.
And clearly watch out for brand reps slacking other brands and showing you how superior their brand is.
But otherwise, its good to see how much tech have moved on from LCD and plasma days.

I don’t think you’d find an LCD TV any better. The technology is been evolved over the years by several technologies, but nothing I would class as revolutionary, yet.

OLED, on the other hand, makes a huge difference. It’s an entirely different technology, which isn’t without its downfalls, but is significantly better at displaying images than LCD.

I would argue the average person would be able to tell an OLED from an LCD, which says a lot :P
