New UFC Game by THQ

Just played half the tutorial and had a quick fight. I have to say its actually really good, thats from someone who doesnt really like these sort of games. EDIT: I won the fight, blood everywhere :)

Just read your comment, how do you get to play this, are you in the games industry?

Love the demo some info on career mode shame 7 years only though but it appears decent start. :)

After you create your character, Dana White introduces you to the UFC and puts your fighter in a tryout fight that will determine where he starts on the totem pole. At first he will be fighting fictional lower-end fighters, and over time he’ll move on to mid-level fighters and eventually the upper-echelon stars.

Your fighter progresses by improving his skills and gaining “cred points” that can be used to move to the next level. UFC matchmaker Joe Silva will offer you a number of potential opponents with different styles for your fighter’s next bout, with the tougher opponents yielding more cred points. It is then your responsibility to properly prepare for the fight.

To prepare for the fight, you are provided a calendar. Each week your fighter can do activities to improve his skills, such as sparring and training. He can even travel to famous real-life camps for instruction from MMA’s best tutors. He can also meet with sponsors and secure sponsorships for fight gear that will earn extra cred points. However, you also have to avoid overtraining by providing your fighter rest that will allow him to enter his fight in peak shape.

As your fighter’s career advances, you can also watch the UFC advance. Your fights will take place on UFC cards featuring a host of real fighters, and the results of those fights could dictate your next opponents.

Career mode lasts for seven years, at which point your fighter will have a retirement fight. If you perform well enough you will gain induction into the UFC Hall of Fame. In addition, players can take their created fighters and compete online against the created fighters of other players. The developers say career mode for any given created fighter will last around 10 hours.

Had a lovely KO last night, went for a high knee just as Chuck went for a stomach punch, cue a knee to the noggin at full speed and a KO ;)

I cannot wait for this game!

wow, im a big fan of ufc, tried the demo today, and loving it, will buy for sure

I like to knock them out with ground and pound best, plus you can slap them about quite a bit after the ref says stop :)

Just took a few movies of the game on the 70" Screen on the wall with the projector I borrowed from work, and bear in mind this is in 50hz SD, not HD!

Sorry about the quality, darkness does that to my camera! :)

The hardest thing i'm finding is as you go up the difficulty levels, shogun is really good at countering Chucks miss timed punches with takedowns. Now this is fine as i deserve it for throwing a poor punch when when i try and kick him off, i always get the wrong rotation on the stick and end up pulling him in close which gives Shogun the split second to get into half guard and start the GnP. If only i could master this i'd enjoy it even more, if thats possible :D

yeah i have the same problem as you, upping the difficulting and just not know which rotation to do. and i still keep forgetting how to do submission etc :P

Unless late in the third i don't usually bother with submission, they usually roll out of everything into a really advantageous position. Its really annoying when you are Shogun and you take Chucks back, because in a real fight, Shogun would just sink a choke in quite comfortably, but in this; you try for the choke, Chuck spins and jumps through guard into side control. Its like.. a pure WTF moment.

Late in the third is a pretty rare sight :D

I've tried to make some matches last out but a lucky punch can end it all!

Preferring to have the stamina bars off for now though, gives you a nice unpredictable element to the fight and makes it feel more real :)

The submission/ground system just seems so well implemented, but right now I'm still learning :)

Really preferring a striking role rather than ground and pound or submission so far, but things can change! :) Really looking forward to kicking some of you guys in the nose :D

yeah ive never got to the third, usually a ko in the 1st minute of 2nd round. but wats all this talk of stamina bars i dont see them
