New Unreal Tornament 3 Gameplay Footage

Looks great - very "UT". Graphics don't look that amazing or next gen - but who cares if the gameplay is good. Definitely be getting it on the day of release, as I did with UT, UT2003 and UT2004 :)

/waits for the "original UT can never be beaten" crowd to show up :rolleyes: :p

The only decent footage is of the rocket launcher!

However that preview of the shock did look a bit tasty. Anyway, from the video it does look very "UT" - Just been playing for an hour or so, and had a similar feel to it. Will certainly be giving it ago when it comes out. And if need be, upgrade my system. Nothing has ever taken me by strong addiction other than UT99. I still play regularly on FFA, and clan matchs/practices.

I guess its like TA, i used to play that a lot, then supreme commander come out and made TA look very dated.
 
Love how they release these vids and everyones running around, how often do you see people actually running on ut servers? Graphically from that vid im not impressed, looks more like ut2k4 with custom models. :(
 
yea, that video wasnt shouting out that it was top stuff. but none the less, weall know its going to be amazing!

and that shock looked brilliant.

Movement doesnt look as bad as I expected (i like the floaty balloon feel of '04). Those GFX also look amazing, see the waterfall thing in the background :eek:
 
I think the graphics looked pretty good, footage was grainy/dark at times.... but can see its a level up still ;)

I bet once we see it in the flesh will look even better
 
looks like 2k4 to me, and i dont think it will be a patch on the original, the movement doesnt look right, the shock balls are small, the player scale is to small aswell. the gfx look to cheesy and overdone.
 
UT games were all sick. Incredible presentation. If the older games are anything to go by, I'll be playing this for years :)
 
Man ... I was happy being a cynic up till now, which made release date not too bad.... now all I can think of sitting here at work, is how much I wanna play that, get to know the new maps and unleash some havoc :(
 
Looks quite good, same UT behaviour, love it being OTT. not sure what settings they were playing at, but it dont quite look like the best they can get out of it. perhaps they toned it down for gameplay.

cant win really lol we all say, nice graphics runs crap though. Or runs well but man looks crap.

either way, will buy, will play, will get owned lol
 
Well I thought it looked awesome! Graphics were lovely (but they never matter in UT anyway), moment looks very different from 2k3/2k4, which will kinda work both ways, I actually like how things move in Ut2k3/2k4 but I can't imagine that it'll take long to get used to the new movement, as for it feeling like UT99, I haven't played it in so long I can't even remember how it feels now :D

The rocketlauncher looks a bit massive but I suppose you'd get used to it.
 
Don't know why they always use someone who's poo at the game to do demo videos. Give it to Gitz or someone and let's see what you can really do with the game.

Can't wait to play it. Only reason I'm upgrading my pc... although it doesn't look much on Q4 etc

Are you serious mate? Remember its not the highest quality video, but considering how fast paced UT games need to be and the amount going on in a level, the graphics are fantastic

Saying that I fell in love with Gears of War style of visuals, and not everyone did, and obviously its using the same engine so I love how it looks

Fantastic video to, love the weapon models
 
The weapon models are gonna take some getting used to, and I'll definitely switch off weapon bob ... something I do in '04 ... the bopping makes me loose some accuracy, even though the crosshair doesnt move
 
I know why it looks so crap. It's the video. It's not been encoded at a high quality level. The game itself looks good if you ignore the bluriness caused by the video encoding. Looks good to me.
