New Vampire movie DAYBREAKERS

Interview with a vampire is homoerotica.
I thought the movie was quite a good depiction of the book, but beside that I'm just not keen on Anne Rice's view of how people work. All her characters are self absorbed manic depressives. She's one of those authors that when you read her work, you can tell you're reading into her mind. Its very personal and so everything she writes just leaves me with a horrible feeling.

Anyway I'm going off topic :p

Quite a mixed set of reviews so far for Daybreakers. Dont think I'll bother going to see it.

The best Vampires within the last decade were the monstrous ones from 30 Days of night. They had none of this modern culture "woe-is-me" attitude. They just got straight to Vampire business and didn't hang about ;)

I did like the movie, but I does have major overtones, and the vampires are too perfect, and depressing.

This is a vampire, wierd and monster, monster, monster.
Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht.

Good flick, although the story/script let it down a bit. Going to be interesting to see what the sequel is like!

Tis beautifully subtle... But a little is lost from the book (I believe). Great flick though, and it will be interesting to see what the US remake is like...

ive not actually read the book yet, though i read about it a lot haha.. i'm trying to find a hardback copy with the swedish cover but the english translation inside.. dont think they make them lol. the paperback cover art is terrible i think, same with the dvd.

but anyway, i'm looking foward to the remake too, but i think they might ruin it, not many american horror remakes are good.... but saying that, i did really enjoy cloverfield an 'let me in' is the same director... hmmm, not sure about the kids they've chosen to star..

i just dont see why they need to remake it, its almost insulting to the people who worked on the swedish one (only 3 years ago).. hmmmm.. rant over.

As avatar was sold out at the imax we went to see this instead and it was decidedly average in my opinion, it was watchable and enjoyable but brought nothing new to the genre and didn't excel in any of its other aspects either. Some parts of it seemed disjointed and like they were either cut down from a larger part or placed in just as filler to make it last long (e.g. the daughter side story).

If your bored and have nothing to do its okay but I wouldn't rush out to see it.

Nah, the best vampire film is Lesbian Vampire Killers, even if they only for 2 scenes, the climbing over the gate and the shower scene :p

I personally loved it!

Does anyone remeber the quote that Willem Dafoe says when he walks into the safe area?

Something like

"Is it safe?"

"About as safe as going bareback with a 5 dollar hooker"

???
