New Warcraft Guild for OcUK

I see what your saying but I don't think it will separate members into two groups (yes there would be 2 groups but not like in that way of being segregated). There will always be people playing normally at the same level as those that are capped if they so wish.. Its a choice anyone can make. It gives people options.

It will though, you will have the capped group and those that don't want to cap playing completely separately now.

Also, letting a level 82 in was silly, might as well just let people throw their 90s in now.

Capping is a PITA.

This guild was created to allow people to get together, level and play in a social environment in preparation for WoD, possibly with a bit of casual level 90 raiding while we wait for it to drop. All content pre-90 is essentially trivial now - level capping doesn't change that. There will be plenty of opportunity to farm old raids at higher level for gear people want to get (I know I want to), without creating a unnecessary aggro for people who aren't interested in doing so.

I'm in agreement, but forcing caps now isn't the way to go.

I know there is a group of us in the guild interested in capping, and an announcement will be made soon about future plans to do with capping for those who are interested. But it won't be forced on everyone.

To cap or not to Cap!

I don’t think enforced caps pre 80 should be applied, as stated Vanilla and BC content is trivial even with a group of capped players. You will not ever experience the raids as they were back then in WoW as it stands currently due to class changes mainly.

If you ever want to experience BWL, AQ, BT etc as meant then your only option is to go down the non blizzard route.

You can however bring some capping, if people want it, into play at 80/85 as there is gear available of appropriate ilvls. So you can experience the raid content at sort of the same difficulty (classes are still inherently stronger now than back then though)

In short, hit the raids but bring people at whatever level they desire Raiding nights help build a community, you don’t want to destroy the guild before it’s even got off the ground.

maybe a separate guild on the same server for capped people?

that way that guild is kept organised and the bank only has the relevant capped stuff etc.

obviously people can be in either.

points all taken in but I would like to say that I never said capping will be forced.. Its a choice for players if they so wish.. Don't forget it was only an idea nothing is set in stone. If players are wanting to do older content for whatever reason then they can but making sure you dont level over that cap is needed in some way. Yes we all know we are going to over powered but still, people might still want to do them. Its a choice for those wanting to take part. I dont want people to get the wrong impression.

If we was going to be a capping guild it would have been mentioned in the OP. For now its an idea for those interested in capping , that is all :-)

Anyway...... Website could be online tonight:-)

I think it's all going pretty well at the moment. Plenty of people online, people looking to help out, group and so on. There are some people obviously levelling a lot faster than others but there's such a spread that there's always going to be people at a similar level to others. I think it's a great start to be honest.

Not a fan of capping, but if others want to do it, that's their call :)

I'll go back to old dungeons, as and when, with whomever wants to go and at whatever level they want. I will use OCUK as a social and levelling guild to have fun and a giggle while I play. I may even be able to raid now and then - but until then, I'm just going to run around bashing stuff and grouping when I get a chance :)

Where is the need to cap people? Because they have more time than yourself to play so level faster? Because they do not want to read every single quest or bit of text? It is silly to do that as not everyone plays the game at the same speed or even the same way.

I'll happily come back and blast through old content with someone even if I have out levelled it, Remember just because you are running around on your own does not mean you are on your own... the guild is a social one as well as a gaming one.
