New World MMO

If you go to Twitch, just about every streamer who is playing New World is currently logged in, including loads of US streamers who are logged in and playing with their folks at the moment on EU servers. Thats not terribly helpful, the US streamers could have at least waited until the US servers were up.

I was 107 in the queue for so long I was starting to wonder if it got stuck lol....

now 106, it's literally not moving cos no one is getting dc or logging off it seems

if your moving up the queue it's because people are leaving the queue not the game

I think it's 2000 per server over 200000 people trying play the game last time I looked and only eu servers up and running it's not good lol

Itl get worse before it gets any better

Should be better once some other servers open up aswell.. I hope

It will work itself out eventually, I think the US servers are due up in a couple of hours so that might spread things out a bit, things might get rough again at 4pm today when the central EU people finish work and go to log in and again at 5pm today when the UK people finish work and go to log in but should settle down in the coming days. I would like to see Steam announce that time spent in a queue does not count toward the 2 hour play time for refunds though otherwise many people may wish to refund and find that they cant because they passed 2 hours sat in queues, but I'm not sure how Steam can verify time spent in queues as I guess they only track whether or not someone has started the game up.

now 106
26 minutes later im at 105 :D

I think the USA servers are up in 1-2hours? the status website shows almost as many people in queue as there are people playing though :S and it's still early in the day

It's a good old MMO launch this, standard operating procedure for the most part.

You'd think companies would learn by now, rather than just repeating past follies. You know stuff like, dont stagger server launches, open globally at the same time, open character creation 7 days before launch so that everyone can "pre-create" their characters, open with enough servers to reduce queuing on both main and login servers and have a plan for later server merging/free character transfers when player populations drop after the first month, make all guilds createable immediately from the start so that all guilds can be named and created from the get-go and so on.

But no...instead its look, I made that building out of paper and it falls down in the wind, hey, lets build a new building ...out of stone Sir? No...good lord no, lets make it out of paper again.

I'm done today, can't be bothered to wait in New World Queue Simulator, been in 2 queues now since 7am, pulled myself out at 2k after waiting in the first queue this morning from 3800 to 257 after the server maintenance.

I've always thought it would be cool if an MMO did a thing where you get a 10% cumulative XP boost buff for each 30 mins that someone is in a queue. So if you queue for an hour and a half, you get a 30% XP boost buff for an hour and a half when you get in, but again that sort of thing requires an MMO to think outside of the box.
