New World MMO

I've not looked at it much but it appears most of the 'issues' around CPU usage or framerates appear to happen with nVidia GPU's.

Never had an issues with my previous 4690K running at (4.4Ghz) and an AMD RX 5700. Moved to a Ryzen 5600x CPU and the frame rates increase as expected. Cores seem moderately loaded at 40-50%.
At a guess the Lumbyard engine may be trying to leverage as much parallel processing where possible and when on 4cores (with no hyperthreading) you're going to see a loaded CPU.

So it seems that you won't be able to move any characters to a full world:

Where can I move my character to?
You can move your character to any world in your region, except:
You cannot move your character to a full world.
You cannot move your character to a world in maintenance.
You cannot move your character to a world set that you have an existing character in already.

The biggest issue here is they have gone back on their original word on transferring across regions. Now loads of US players are going to be stuck on EU servers unless they restart.

To be fair I think that was obvious really, despite what words they may have originally used, it was blatantly obvious that they wouldnt allow people to transfer to full worlds because it would achieve nothing.

The surprising thing perhaps though is that you cant transfer from EU to US or US to EU. Which is a pretty damned poor thing to do, means that all those people who are US and rolled on EU and stayed and all those people who are EU and rolled on US, are now stuck there. I could see a few people quitting over this. Maybe they will change their minds.

Folks believed what Amazon were saying originally, being straight up lied to us pretty low (people's nativity in believing that or not shouldn't be questioned), yeah not being to move to the us from eu and visa versa is pretty standard in MMOs isn't it? I've also seen that folks can't even move from US East Coast to US West Coast either, that's the more surprising one for me

It doesnt even make sense either, I thought the whole point of them having global names for characters and companies was so that transferring would be easier. Yeah its very standard to not allow regional transfers in MMOs but thats pretty much down to most MMOs having regionally locked names and thus it being more complex to transfer from one region to another. This could well be the straw that breaks the back for some players

GW2 and Final Fantasy you can move regions, no reason to withhold it here.

The name this is weird, I know wow would just have you rename a character if you moved to a different server with the name already taken.

It wouldn't surprise me to see people quit over this. Also not surprising to see 'paid' transfers coming at a later date

I went away for a midweek break and come back to no queues which is nice to see.

Looking at the stats there's been a small gradual decline in EU players but the queue counts have tanked. The new AFK detection system seems to be working well and perhaps suggests that the queues were largely self inflicted by selfish players trying to stay in game when they go for a walk-dinner-movie combo.

I thought someone confirmed this would be fine on social media with regards to moving from EU to US. I could be wrong but I agree with everything else you said, absolutely no point allowing transfers to one that's full.

It's not Amazons fault many players lack common sense. Full means full.

It would be an extra knife in the back if they later allowed regional transfers on the pay-for-transfer option !

I hope they do this just to see all the salt from players.
