Im having big problems installing the software. Got the latest catalyst driver for windows XPpro.

however, when i run through the installation it comes up with a "servre error box saying no supporting hardware." "try installing a standard vga adapter"


surely somthing isnt right here. yes the Nvidia drivers have been cleaned.

Much appriaciated if you can help :cool:

is that right? but no the cd doesnt work either :(

so let me get this right, ive just spent over £100 on a card that there isnt any drivers out for :eek: :eek: :confused:
 
Yeah alittle frustrating, browsing the web, seems like other people have the same problems, surely there cant be a card out with no driver support :eek:
 
Yup there is they do it all the time, x1950 XTX came out, no drivers, x1950pro came out, no drivers, you have to use the modified set on the CD's that they've modified to work until they release some officials that support them, took over a month for x1950 XTX driver support.

Don't know why the drivers on the CD don't work for you though, you deffo driver cleaned etc...
 



Na the CD doesnt work, could it be a duff card?
I will try reloading xp sometime this weekend. :( very peeeded off tbh

cost me £162.00 for a card that doesnt work, well atleast its from my work and i buy the kit from distrobutors with a 30day account, shame though... will have to get a Nvidia if i cant get this to work by the weekend end. another :(

You have the same problem as me m8. I tried to play BF2 tonight but it's unplayable. Jerky graphics etc. I don't think my card is working cos my 6800 128M ram is better than this. Call of Duty 2 is the same so it's not the usual bf2 problems :D
I'm going to send my card back once I get an RMA. I'm going to get a Gf 7900 GTO instead.

anyway, all ive got to say is "ATI, I THOUGHT YOU WERE POO, BUT I GOT YOU WORKING AND BLOWN AWAY WITH THE PERFORMANCE COMPARED TO MY 7900GT :) thank you

How on a side note, the installation had to be manual, installed all the driver parts seperatly :( like WDM and control panel. buy it, its a good card. However, download the driver from there web site as ATI do not support these cards nor are they on the supplied CD.

honestly, ive had a better time with installing X server on linux than this tbh :D i will post some results of 3dmark etc tomorrow, wife is moaning so got to go to bed... i think she wants me :rolleyes:

Please please please can you help. I bought one of these today and cannot get it to work. Connect3D don't work weekends and the technical help people at the shop I bought it from have been very off hand and unhelpful.

I am getting the same error as you were at first.

Can you please give me a detailed break down of what you did to get it to work?

Well, I've just ordered one. I've also read in one of the video card's reviews that the card will not work with 6.11 drivers, you need to use 6.10 drivers. I hope everything goes ok for me >_>
 
Mine is using the 6.10 drivers which do install perfectly yet my games are all jerky as if the 3d isn't working. I would have thought a card of this calibre would be amazing.

Download just the display driver (Theres three drivers - the one in the middle)

Its called "Display Driver for X1950 XT"


That will get the display driver on at least but no control panel.
Then download the full catalyst package 6.11 (1st of the three) you will have to manualy install the WDM and the catalyst package - do not use the setup function to install all of it as the driver does not work.

After the driver is on and you have rebooted the system install these using explorer, go in to each individual folder and click on the correct setup.exe such as control panel etc.

Thanks for taking the time to help us,,mine has beed despatched this morning so i dare say come monday or tuesday i will be posting here agian screaming for help.. :D :D
