Hi. I have been running my newly built PC for a few days now and i am a bit concerned with the high CPU temps i'm getting with my H80i
Firstly I was getting around 35 degrees at idle and over 80 degrees at full load.
I took the cooler back of and discovered that only half the heat sink was touching the CPU.
So I cleaned it up and re applied some MX2 compound and tested again, I was then getting around 25 degrees idle and 58 under load, which I was happy with.
now a few hours later under normal use the idle temp has risen to 42 degrees and 78 degrees under 100% load.
Why are my temps so inconsistent, any ideas?

but it idles at about 35°C now, having been on for several months. (yes, that's several months straight) excluding resets for updates and software glitches.
