we are getting close to establishing a date

now all we need is

is it going to be a whole weekend or a night on the lash or a combination of both

e.g those that wanted could go kart, then we could all meet up for drinks etc

fri or sat, possible places to stay etc etc

updated list of people intrested

sorry if im intruding :)

No worries dude, as I have always said my finals were in june and they finished today, so if I miss spell something give leaway as I am wasted. AFAIK most peole just want drinks and nothing else, if a fair number of people want activities (i.e. > 10) I will sort somthing out for them. But I am sorry if it is one person against the massives.

Bowling would work. The rest are far too energetic for me. :)

Anyway, I'll spectate for now. Once I see some plans, I'll decide. :)

Well iirc (thats not good when im wasted) we were meeting the 2nd full weekend in newcaslte for beer, not activities were being held as the vote were agaisnt them, we looked at going to tynemouth, south shields, whitley bay etc.

But atm its pretty much get wasted.

Fair enough, if it's just a pub crawl and everyone gets wasted, then that's no good to an (almost) non-drinker like me, but I'm not against anyone else doing it if they so wish. I'll go into pubs etc., but it's to talk with friends, not get wasted. :)

Anyway, I'll butt out now, and let you organise. If it's interesting to me, I'll join in. If not, I won't.

Well I would wish you would come regardless on your views of drinking as (from the london meet) people always mention you, you would be missed.

quiet bars are always a good start, means people can drink and actually hear eachother. would be good to meet you and the rest. So be there or be square

Last year was good, went to a few bars in the afternoon, had a few quiet pints and a good chinwag then went back into town and went to a chinese buffet where Old No 7 (alias Aliboy) ate half the mussels in the north sea  We then went to a few more pubs and instead of going to a night club went to a nice pub with a beer garden overlooking the river where several of the male members of our party flirted with a dodgy looking hen party :D

All in all, a splendid evening :)

Stan,

I do not mind doing this again, but what has been pointed out is that some want more than just beer, and some want goings on. I think I will plan with the help of von (hopefully) for just a LANGUAGE! up if more people want anything more i will accomendate.

i think people voted against the paintballing and karting as they seemed a chew on, bowling on the other hand is a viable idea, allows for a bit of food afterwards or during, and can act as a base for meeting / going out on the town

i for one didnt like the idea of paintballing, but i would be up for bowling :)

Yeah, bowling seems a decent idea. I love paintballing/Gocarting, but it seems to energetic/expensive for a meet IMO. And quiet bars are good, so that Ican hear people. My hearing is bad enough at the best of times, never mind in deaffingly loud clubs.

Now that's my kind of meet. Wish I'd gone now. If it's going to be something like this, I'll gladly go (money and time permitting as always).

PS - you could plan bowling as a 'morning after' activity. That's how we would usually do it. If nothing else, it gives people a chance to wake up and sober up before driving home, which is always a good thing. :)
