Newcastle Sack Barton!!!

Won't it more be a case of "We'll let you leave on a free transfer if you keep your mouth shut" rather than him actually being sacked? letting him leave on a free just kinda proves Jose Enrique's point about the club lacking ambition.

That's partly what's happened. It was announced earlier that Newcastle have made him available to leave for free. However shortly after, Barton mouthed off again which has led to these reports that he's possibly been sacked now.

Leave the club or talk to them, don't **** them off on twitter, he has enough money to buy himself out of his contract.
 
didn't the club lie about him refusing new contracts etc when they hadn't even offered him one.

I'm not 100% against him on this one, think he could offer a lot to a club like Everton or Villa.
 
Making Pardew looking like an idiot, whatever he is saying isnt ringing true above his head.

From an outsiders point of view it looks like its turning into a big joke again.

Hopefully this is all part of a bigger and better plan, just cant see it myself.

We had a good season last year too, looks a bit bleak this year. I sometime think I should give up following Newcastle and do what I did with England football, not follow anyone and just enjoy watching football
 
From the neutral they seem to be a mess again, lots of the players want to have a pop at the regime, I don't know too much about it though just picking stuff up from following a few of them and lots of people round here are still in touch with the masterful :D James Perch.

Yeah, more like, he assaulted a player on the pitch this season but it went down as a non issue because it wasn't a really bad punch.

He's scum, nothing more or less, probably had contract offers but not a major wage hike, while Barton is going around claiming to be the best midfielder in England.

Screams to me in both the case of Barton and Enrique that they've had deals offered but not with significant(if any) wage increase but they both think they deserve big increases, true if they were on low 30k a week contracts, but both appear to be on plenty for players of their calibre.

THe actual quotes I've seen from Enrique and Pardew read like Pardew said they'd offered him a great contract and Enrique says he hasn't been offered a increase in salary.... not that he hasn't been offered a new contract, just not a higher wage one and in the same vein as Nasri, having his name bandied about in the press seems to make him think he's worth a lot more than he is.

Surely if he was worth a lot more someone would have come in for him by now, last year of his contract he won't exactly cost a lot.

If Barton's on 55k a week or so, and the club stuck by him when in jail, the club can full well expect him to sign a new contract for a reasonable wage and no increase, while Barton, given every single break possible when he should have rotted in jail for a lot longer and been fired, is acting out.

Screw him, if Arsenal bring him in I'll quite literally cry.
 
Asset stripping, and getting the wage bill low, hopefully means the FCB is going to have another attempt at flogging the team, and then ***** off.
 
I've followed Barton on twitter for a while now and he actually seems like a top lad. Well read, intelligent, articulate footballer.

To me it seems as though he's turned a new leaf.

I was saying this to a friend the other day, considering we always hear how much of a thug he is he seems quite intelligent. Don't think he's top four material, maybe to add a bit of strength in depth perhaps but if he's disruptive then I wouldn't take a risk with him.

If I was KK, I'd snap him up straight away. He has an understanding with Carroll, he's a local lad too.

I followed with him lots of scepticism, but he's not been in trouble for years now and comes across as a decent bloke.

Barton's always been well spoken though, this isn't new. I remember him on Soccer AM years ago and I was shocked at how well he came across; had I not known the things he's done before, I'd have never guessed.

It does appear that he's genuinely trying to turn over a new leaf though. As somebody said in the transfer thread, he was on the receiving end of some shocking treatment last season and managed to keep his cool when you would have understood it had he reacted.

edit: oh, he did punch Pedersen though :p
 
I don't understand the criticism of Barton here. What has he actually done except had a go at the board for getting rid of the best players and not singing anyone decent? Like a petulant child Cashley rather than listen to him or consider his opinion and the millions who agree with him he has just got rid of him. He has played brilliantly for us the last few years and a lot of the hatred comes from his past misdemeanour's from years back. I'll be sad to see him leave and can only see the club becoming worse without him.
 
Barton now saying he will only leave if it suits him.

So he betrays his true colours and shows what everyone knew, it's all about money. If someone wont give him the stupid money Newcastke are (even heard reports saying 80k a week :o) he'll stay just to fill his pockets.

Shown his true colours once again. Not that we should be surprised.
