Newcastle to Slough

Maybe they have alterior motives in you losing those rights - once you buy on-site its a whole different ballgame.

yes hardball -
even if the deposit was supposedly non-refundable, say you only engaged on the basis it would be deliverered as written on web-site, and, so you could benefit from distance rights.

Yeah I didn't buy it online specifically to get distance selling rights. If it had been nearer I would have happily gone and collect it.

I'd just can them off a demand deposit back for refusal to deliver as stated. It doesn't bode well should you come across future issues

There's a far few knocking around up north so could look closer to home?

In that case, I'm going to throw in another suggestion compared to everyone elses. Make it an enjoyable trip, it doesn't need to be extravagant. I'm assuming You're in no rush to get home.

Fly down the day before, rest up at a hotel, go out and eat, see the sights.
Pick up your car the next day, drive half way back up. Stay at a different city/town for another night and then finish your journey home the next day.

Yeah, it more expensive and is not as time efficient but if you are making the journey; you might as well squeeze in some fun at the same time.

Go out and eat and see the sights? In Slough? This guy's minted, he neither wants food poisoning nor mugging :)

Most liekly the case tbh

@LeeUK
Not make a weekend of it?

I picked car up from Exeter before, flew down then slow drive back over coupla days

Possible something with the financing needs to be done in person even if already agreed.

I can kind of sympathise with the dealer though in some ways - I was completing a purchase in person recently and the sales guy was bemoaning they'd just had someone buy online from Leeds (260 miles away) then cancel and they were having a headache getting the car back plus the extra miles on it and was saying that kind of stuff was happening more and more often.

I had a Mazda 3 sport brought up from 200+ miles away by a local dealer, went to view it and they asked if I was wanting to pay cash or finance!

I mean I would have had it not clearly been some form of rental and having half the normal extras missing.

That mustve been a pig for them

If the dealer said they would deliver well then they should haha

Now they want me to jump on a train tomorrow and they'll refund me the train ticket cost.

I assume they are desprate to have the deal done before the end of the month/quarter. :D

This could have all been sorted if they had delivered it already...
