NexCore Airflow - Another Sponsored Project

Ooofff... I take that back - with the fans sat flat across both halves that looks really nice (didn't realise that was how the fan mounts worked, assumed it was a 240/280 on each half!)!

I love your work, big fan, but that needs something. Colour highlights maybe?
Gotta disagree on that personally... love a blackout build :) (although I'm going UV on my pending rebuild... and may end up with some lighting on fans, mainly cos I'm too cheap to buy better fans!)

Edit: @Jay85 - do they do the noctua edition card with non-brown fans as a stock option, or did you swap those out?! looks awesome!

The RGB on the board would be the highlights, it's quite a minimalistic build keeping to the Noctua theme.

Keep an eye on the watercooled build of this one, we have a very special board from Asrock to share shortly!

And that's fair enough.

I do like it, but I feel that with everything on display (360 degrees) that it needs some highlights. In the true sense of the word that is, simply highlighting the lines maybe?

If the idea is to have a "shades of grey" build, then that nails it, but I do look forward to a WC build on this after seeing what Jay did with MiniFusion

Edit: Thanks Jay, I hadn't thought of the boards LED's.

Gorgeous right, i don't want to take this one apart but i know i have to since im doing a watercooled build with this shortly... LOVE the minimalistic theme on these, it really strikes hard but without really trying if that makes sense.

Nah i swapped out the fans lol, the brown really ruined it when there isn't any other brown on the system. This all blacked out and gun metal look really rocks.

Yeah she's a beaut! - I'm still looking forward to seeing the WC version too though :)
I seem to have answered my own question about the long slotted thing - mounting bracket for the PCIe riser... the (doublely) vertical orientation really sets this off!

Regarding my own build, I have 4 white vardars to go on the 480mm rad, so rather than avoid or 'cope' with the mismatch, I've leaned into it... white version of the Barrow DDC res (and also cos I'm cheap and it was half price!) and white/black cables, rather than grey/black.. which may have looked better with the motherboard and GPU etc. Hopefully all the white will benefit from he UV and distract from the ugly red graphics on the GPU backplate!

The raw mild steel of this frame adds to the aesthetics of the overall build. It's a shame this variant wont be available and only in scratch resistant powdercoating. I think a few people would have loved the rough industrial look.

You finishinig your build before the end of the year or just going to take your time with it? Honestly Barrow and Bykski stuff generally are okay, cant really fault them. I think the white will look imo!

OMGG... is that a black/grey version or is it just the lighting??? - Can only see the white version of the Aqua on their website.

I really wanted an x570 Aqua.. but couldn't justify £1k+ on a mobo (or even when I saw one for £550 reduced/b-grade!)

Just lighting, i wish they did a Gunmetal smoked version, that would be bonkers!

I'm on pretty good terms with Asrock at the moment so will wait and see if they bring an X870 version too.

Never thought id build with one of these let alone own one, so its really quite something to hold the board in your hand.

I was planning to progress the build when I had a week off in late Nov, but took too long to decide on parts... overall it's already 2-3 years overdue so.... 'soon (tm)' :D (it won't be anything too special, but I'll tag you :) )
Yeah, a dark version of that board would go HARD!! (use your contacts and make it so :P )

... and yeah, they should definitely offer the raw steel option, always loved a raw welded and laquered look on BMX frames! (burnt titanium would also look sick but adds complication with making it and obviously a lot of cost!)

At least you haven't given up on it that's the main thing! too easy to just abandon a project,

Btw, full board pics

I think it's a way off yet, but will happen eventually.
Definitely the way forward but needs all peripherals to catch up (or could just run a hub from one port, but it's extra clutter).

I've already got my KB on USB-C, but mouse, audio interface, webcam, external HDD etc. etc.

The new Aqua is just a VRM and SSD waterblock? That's disappointing given the previous models were all-in-one beasts.

Still a good looking board though.

Yeah it is, no monoblock! Shame because i know the last few were Alphacool's i think. But from what i've heard i think it might have something to do with Alphacool's current state of finances so they've pulled back from some things.

Hoping they bring out a X870 version too!

A monoblock solution would be awesome... given the modern trend of back mounted power connections, they could even move the ports up to the top of the board (and 90/180 degrees rotated) for a totally clean front face (or passthrough like that CPU block that routes water through the moterboard holes with ports on the back)
