"Next Gen" Thoughts

I may get a PS4 at some point, but right now they offer me nothing my pc doesn't do better. Its the first time i havent had the latest console.

Can't say PS4 or the Xbone inerest be just now, the WiiU is next gen to me at the moment.

Same for me.

I'll add a PS4 to the collect when there's a good reason to jump in - right now though there's nothing on the platform that interests me and the Wii U just totally delivers.

Funny thing is if Nintendo get their act together for 2014 (real slow start to 2013 but they suddenly woke up June/July) they could seriously pee on Sony and MS's bonfire.

Infamous Second Son might be the title that has my reaching for my wallet - high hopes for that one.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my ps4 so far. Its such a lovely interface coming from a 360 and the graphics match anything that I personally have ever played on a PC. I'm looking forward to MMOs making their way to next gen in some form or another, especially Planetside 2 and final fantasy.

Same, the only reason why I want a PS4 is so I have a new toy to play with. Nothing making me want it now, though MGS is out in March so that'll do.

I love my ps4. Since release I've put in around 40hours in on it.

A few rough edges like Netflix hard crashing the console and crashes from flicking through screenshots too fast but otherwise flawless.

Bring on the next 6 years I say :)

Loving the PS4, can't wait to get more stuck into games as they come out.

Was mostly PC gamer throughout last gen (with the odd console game thrown in here and there). It feels nice not to be constantly seeking a graphical high and just to get on and play the games, most of which look fantastic.

Same here, PC gaming is a complete pain in the backside. My time is tight and I spend more time fixing problems than actually playing anything on the thing.

Here here. Its been nice firing up the one/ps4 and just getting on with it and even tonight I thought I would play some AC4 on pc and it took an hour to sort out drivers and get it to stop stuttering

I haven't got one yet but will be buying a PS4 in the coming weeks. The only reason I've held off is that I've a few P3 games I want to play and not really any must have (for me) PS4 games. If I was out of games to play, I'd just go get one.

I'm enjoying it a lot now. Only used it for 3 days after launch then moved home and had to go without net for 2 weeks. But been hammering it since over the last 5 days and it's everything I'd hoped.

Obviously some features need to be added and it needs some tweaks here and there and more games but as of right now, I'm more than satisfied with what it offers me. Only really playing BF4 and Zen Pinball 2 but it's just nice to have my mates all one 1 console and actually online and chatting. (2 didn't play online lats gen, and 3 more didn't have PS3).

So for me, the social aspect with my mates has really ramped up and that ups my enjoyment 10 fold.

I'm loving the consoles, I've still got enough to keep me going on them for a few months and by that time there will be new games and so on. Certainly haven't regretted buying them and worth every penny I'd say.

At what point does using words correctly become pedantic?

Pretentiously pushing formalities where its not needed? Especially when obvious what the discussion is about, I'd say thats being a pedant. But yeah...

In answer to the question...

I have new calluses forming :D So I'm loving me some "Next Gen but not really next gen gaming"

Love my ps4. The only downside is the lack of games, Killzone was awsome and the graphics wowed me more than bf4 and crysis 3...its the kind of game you complete once and don't bother with again though.
Games like AC4 ect i had on PC.
Its definatly a brilliant system though and i can't wait to see what other games are like next year.
It does have that next gen feel and the UI is much better and the dual shock 4 is amazing. Love the touch pad and speaker, it really adds a lot to games.
