*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Yep the 7 will still get plenty of updates as it's a Nexus device.

Thanks, that's great to hear. Now I need to decide whether I want the 7" or the 10" screen. The screen quality is a deal breaker for me and it seems that the Nexus 10 has the better screen with more PPI and higher resolution. I want a tablet I can use to browse the net/watch movies instead of carrying the Laptop everywhere with me.

Would I have a better experience watching movies on the N10 rather than N7? Or wouldn't it make much of a difference as both to me seem to have good screens.

If your looking for a more portable media consumption device you can use on the go, get a 7". If you plan on using it at home the majority of the time, get a 10".

I'd have thought that a thread on Tablets is a pretty good place to go into technical evaluation of tablets

Only if it's for public consumption and mine is not.

Hmm... I was going to get a 32GB Nexus 7 at the end of this month if I hadn't recently decided to order some expensive headphones, a sound card (the sound card was only ~£20, mind) and a SteelSeries 6Gv2 to replace my Razer Arctosa which recently died.

With the news of a 10" tablet, however, I might as well just wait until Christmas and split some of the cost with my mum and get it as a present as I'm no particular rush to acquire one.

Not sure whether to wait for this or get a 7 now. Things I'm considering will the 7 seem to small and not much larger than a phone, will the 10 be too big to carry around easily? Decisions, decisions.

I'm getting VERY excited, I've wanted a table for years but kept holding off, I came so close to buying a Sony Xperia tablet today but forced myself not to and wait for this, I wish pre-orders were up for this device.

I know it's a hard choice, it's a toss up between the cellular Nexus 7 or the wi-fi Nexus 10 for me.

Don't worry about the N7 screen. It's more than good enough.

Now I'm thinking the new ipad 4 is only £80 more than the Nexus 10, which is the more powerful tablet?

Picking a tablet is not easy these days with so much on offer.

The A15s in the Nexus should easily be more powerful than the new iPad, plus it beats it in pretty much every other respect. Unless you specifically want an iPad, I can't see any reason to choose one over the Nexus.

cheers, I think I'll wait for the Nexus 10 then, I didn't realise it was that powerful.

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to ios/android, just want the best for my money.

I think this (at least to some extent) bowls down to the question whether you seek power in electronic gadgets, even sometimes at the expense of more compacts size, or not. Im not implying that 10 inch devices are more powerful but if you are ok with the size, it will hardly be a worry in terms of carrying around or holding.

The main part of using a tablet, when the difference between 7 and 10 stands out for me, is when reading books. A 7 inch size seems ok in vertical mode but not so much when horizontal imo. A 10 incher on the other hand is like looking into an A4 sized book in vertical mode and it doesnt too tiny in horizontal where two pages of reasonable size get to be displayed.
