Nexus 5 2015 refresh

2700mAh isn't big enough? Batterys should get smaller over time as efficiency (hardware and software) improves.

That would make the battery a little over 15% higher capacity, considering my biggest complaint is the useless battery on the old model this really doesn't look like enough of an improvement to warrant the expense.

Which is a pity as in every other respect I'm satisfied.

i agree but unfortunately not much improvement has been made all new phones g4 and s6 still dont last a day of good use (waits for comments of how peoples phones last 2 days ect when they dont) companies seem to be more interested in quick charge which i find pretty useless as most people have to charge their phones at night and have a good 6 hours time to charge

Agreed. Though personally find the QC2 handy in a vehicle where a quick charge can put some life back into the battery quickly. I'll also add that recent phones I've had that have an update to the next version of Android OS has always made the battery life worse.

That's a shame :(

Honestly I don't really think of cloud storage as a viable option unless you live in a big city with a good connection (London for example). I've been in to many situations where I've had pretty much no internet connection because I'm out in the countryside/some other dead connection area. If all my stuff was stored on the internet rather than on my phone then it would be fairly useless in those situations.

Always been my experience. Though out in the sticks where I am I have Vodafone 4G  only move elsewhere in the countryside and it's patchy at best. Google have never given Nexus phones a memory card slot.

So bigger battery and a memory card slot maybe back to the Moto X Play maybe?

Only rumoured specs so I'll wait and see.

Such a shame with regards to the battery. I was really hoping for a lot more. It's not much of an improvement and a decent battery life is high on my list of priorities.
Another device scratched off my list. I'll have to look at the Moto X series now.

Decent battery life high on my list also. But I'm gonna wait and see how it does. It might be alright. Getting 4 hours SOT on my OPO right now... would be happy with that.

Is 2700mAh that small?

well considering lg g2 had a 3000mah battery and was released in august 2013 id say its quite disappointing for anyphone on the market now to have less than a 3k battery, cpu and screens just arnt efficient enough on the battery.

/pats LG G2:p

Shame it looks like it won't get Android M. Will be closely following the new N5 i think.

What you are all failing to realise is that 2700mah in a modern battery tech using thin line capacitors is probably exponentially better than a 2012 3000mah battery. That coupled with Marshmallows already hailed brilliance at controlling battery life means this isn't and shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Marshmallow does not have good battery management, at least not in the most recent DP.

Also, what do you mean 'better'? mAh is a measure of capacity. Sure the modern batteries will be smaller and cooler and charge and discharge faster and degrade slower, but a 2700mAh battery will power a device for less time than a 3000mAh one, regardless of spec.

not heard of doze then?

Yep, but I've never had an issue with battery use in standby. It's the rate it uses when you use it that's the issue. Whopping on massive screens and more powerful chips while only mildly improving the battery is simply not good enough. You don't buy top end Android phones to leave it on standby, that's like buying a Ferrari just to look at.

Do you have auto brightness disabled? You shouldn't have issues making an N5 last all day. Maybe its broken.

2700mah is fine for me if that's what the N5X comes with. 300mah less than what's in my LG G2 but i'm confident battery life will be as good.

Lol Apple is so far behind in battery.

Maybe in terms of mah rating but not actual power management in the software. My iphone 5 battery was ok for the mah rating, and my ipad mini battery is streets ahead of any android tablet ive ever used.
