*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I've done Gumtree lots, buying and selling! As long as you communicated enough, doesn't seem dodgy and meet somewhere decent and sensible its fine! You do usually get a lot of chancers tho, just ignore them. There will be decent offers too :)

Met at a local petrol station, I took a mate. I spoke to the guy on the phone before hand and he sounded normal :D. If he didn't, I wouldn't have met up :D

what's wrong with them coming to your house?

i bought a sky box recently off gumtree and they invited me into their home to show me it all working correctly etc, if i was a buyer and the seller wanted to meet up in a public place i would be quite cautious tbh

I'm currently having this quandary. See prev posts. It's a real head scratcher. I'm gonna keep it through the end of the week. Then one's going on eBay.

So far the nexus 5 is making me realise just how good Sense 5 actually is at some stuff I.e. Multitasking view. Seriously, there has to be an app that mimics that? Right? Right???

I have a black One and a black N5.. they look like twins! So difficult...

I think I'd keep the N5 as the extra screen and slightly quicker processor clinches it for me (although Sense does have some features I'm used to AOSP too as I have a N7) but really I'd probably get max of £250 for the HTC.

So is the HTC £50 better than the N5? (more like £100 if we compare like with like 32Gb versions). I'm thinking it wouldn't be a good value trade even if I'd prefer the N5 :(

So do you prefer the S4 or the N5? :p

That's a tough question to answer.

I like them both :D

Both are unique in their own ways, N5 due to KitKat which is very fast. I love the brightness of the N5 and the whites, but I love the blacks and deeper colours on the AMOLED screen!

The N5 feels a tad bit lighter and better in the hand compared to the slippery feel of the S4.

I dislike the speaker position on the N5 it's in the left bottom corner, depending on how you hold it sound can get muffed if your thumb or finger covers it. The speaker on the N5 is tiny compared to the S4, S4 speaker is louder.

S4 has the IR, expandable storage and removable battery compared to the N5. If those things are important then S4 is the device to have.

Both are solid phones regardless I personally don't mind TouchWiz but the N5 does feel more fluid than the S4 so does the N4 to be honest as both run light OSs when comparing to TouchWiz.

N5 obviously has newer hardware inside it but the S600 is not a slouch by any means.

The N5 is better at low light pictures. Not had a chance to take any daytime pictures yet with natural daylight.

It's tough, but to be honest both are good. And once S4 gets the KitKat GE edition rom it'll be up to date, and eventually KitKat TW which will be interesting to see what changes if any Samsung make to KitKat to include the new KitKat goodies.

OMG that contrast and brightness shift looks so horrible in your video Grudas, my phone is still binb at my gf houses but this has totally put me off, and some of the photos she took where Meh, while others where great. But that screen, why, head on it looks really good, nice colours and contrast but that shift you get when you go side ways is bad.

Anyone know how to get Google Now cards to work? I just get search when I swipe up.

I have too, it's a serious upgrade in every way.
I'm still getting used to some of the features like hangouts - but DANG is it fast :)

And when you think it's £200 at least cheaper than it's rivals - it's an amazing phone for it's money - it's an amazing phone full stop

another video this time with DSLR.. don't mind the loud focus sounds lol :) shows the viewing angles perfectly IMO and where they go from OK to poor.

It is exactly the same thing the Nexus 5 has I wonder why that is, it is very annoying in bed when I use my phone, it just goes grey if I hold it at any kind of offset. Meh, thanks for the video man <3

So most of us have our Nexus 5's.
Who's got a 4G sim card in it? and with who?

GF has Nexus 5, 4g on Vodafone, shes been getting 50mb+ all over London, its nice when hardly anyone has 4g haha. Ping is really low too 20-30ms.

Ahhhh I have both in my hands now and still can't decide between the HTC and the N5... The 0.2" extra screen does make a difference and both are almost exactly the same size and weight overall. Maybe the N5 isn't enough of an upgrade from the HTC and I should return it?

That's how I'm feeling at the mo with the S4 and N5. I think I'll stick with the S4 I do love the N5 but there are a few things keeping me with the S4. Once we get KitKat GE we will have a near enough stock experience to be honest. Either way the N5 is a good phone regardless of what anyone says it's well made and looks the bomb. Even my sister whom dislikes large phones likes the N5 and she is deciding to get one to upgrade from her One S.

Nexus 5 isn't really a standout phone apart from the price. But compared to my S2 it's a leap ahead. Finally got away from the rubbish bloatware that samsung and T-mobile installed on it. The voice command feature was annoying. The voice stuff on the Nexus 5 is pretty spot on though so far.

The angles on the screen in that video is about right, though I'd say the screen is slightly clearer at those poor angles than the video makes out. Not by much though.

Shame NFC seems a bit pointless at the moment.

Having looked closer at my screen tonight I think there is too much light bleed from the top left and more evidently in the top right.

I'm quite tolerant to light bleed but this one is too much given it's a high end phone.

Looks like I'll have to request a replacement.

Having said all that I'm mighty impressed with everything else on it, finally an Android handset that rivals iOS slickness in operation, screen is also excellent apart from the mentioned problems.

Finally set mine up and stuff. Man its beautiful, KitKit, beautiful. Love the phone.

Have to point out the negatives though:
The speaker is absolute pants, possibly worse than the N4.
Camera will do...takes ages to focus.

Gonna call T-Mob tomorrow to see what deals I can get for a pay/g or sim only plan for 4GEEEEEEEEE!
Or I'll wait for 3's 4G to get released as their site seems to have the best deals

Lots of cool new widgets, excited to play with touchless control. OK GOOGLE, DO THE HARLEM SHAKE (*plays harlem shake from Google Music*). Wouldn't that be hillarious
