Nexus 9

What did you think of it?

There isn't much you can do on the shop displays, but it was fast and smooth, the hardware looked good.

I preferred the display on the Tab S 8.4 that was on display, but i prefer stock android and no physical buttons.

I don't currently have a tablet to compare them too, i'm still undecided on which i'm going to buy.

Cheers Spaceman, I think I'll go take a look at one.

I see a lot of reviews moaning about the fact that the back is a finger print magnetic, doesn't concern me, it's going in a case if I'm getting one!

Well I've got one , lag is very launcher dependent, think I'm using apex and its great, a very few apps seem not work, but I'm sure they'll eventually be fixed.
All in an improvement over the 7 for me, seems snappier. Will probably drop like a stone in price mind .

just learned about the promo every tuesday in US for 16GB for $199.

that would make it about $250/ £155 landed. price-wise relatively ok, but 16GB probably won't cut it for a tablet.

OK few days use, love it, very fast, some apps haven't been ported yet.

Battery life ..... Hmmm not huge

So the Nexus 9 can be had from a few places for a penny under £300, has anyone got one and would highly recommend it.
I have a feeling that it will drop further in price before Christmas, but it seems a great piece of kit and from what i've heard Lollipop is fantastic.

How you noticed battery improvement?

I maybe tempted to manually upgrade if there is, videos look easy enough.

Yes I wanted to upgrade and see how it was before deadline for requesting sending it back, which for us I think is Wednesday.

Cant be definitive about battery as yet, though before updating I noticed that Chrome used more than the screen, surely this too will be fixed.

I`ll be using it over next few days if no lag I`ll be happy.

Update wasn't too difficult, I wouldn't start it at midnight tho lol, you know how these things end up.

Let us know how you get on, if there's a battery improvement I'll go a head and do it tomorrow night.

I've already started RMA process on mine, so this is cutting it fine hehe as Wednesday is last day.

I think you can initiate the RMA on the last day, FWIW I`m sure Ive read on XDA one guy heading for 9 hours screen on time, another guy raving about how good MX player is on battery when using hardware decoding.

From this I am pretty sure the device is capable, this update is definitely an improvement from what I`m seeing so far, no background redraws at all, saw a few with previous build.

Another thing I notice this tablet is the best I've seen at is scrolling through a movie (local or from NAS), super snappy and no stutters or lag at all.

Is it just a case of unlocking the bootloader then applying the new update etc?

Ill be giving this a go tonight sounds all positives so far.

I actually did the calculation and came out with 1% for every 2.76 minutes. This is the worst battery life I've had since my HTC Thunderbolt ( I kid, I kid...maybe not though). The best I've gotten so far is 5.5 hours of SOT and that's with some kindle reading, web browsing, youtube watching, and 2 hours of Plex video watching. In all other regards, I love my Nexus 9...i just wish the battery life was way better. Battery life is the only thing I miss about the iPad Air I had before getting this

I haven't had much chance to test since I did the update but the above comment is from xda, not 100% the comment was in relation to updated tablet.

Most ive managed so far is just over 5 hours SoT, that's just browsing/YouTube .
