Nexus 9

Ha! Yeh all Nexus from 2014 onwards have it enabled.

I'm pretty sure you can turn the boot up lock off. I turned it on for my Nexus 6, which didn't have it on by default. Should be in the settings, under security.

Does that disable encryption or just the lock on boot? I had noticed the lock screen on boot but never twigged it was due to encryption.

Constantly find myself disappointed with performance on Tegra based Android devices though.

Yeah, this is weird isn't it?? On paper the Tegra chips are great, but that rarely translates into a smooth user experience.

My OG Nexus 7 was pretty horrible, likewise the Moto Xoom I had before it. And as I say, the Shield K1 I have now is godawful...

I just want a decent Android tablet please! :(

Ok, so now my wife's Nexus 9 is playing up....

She's not touched it for about a week due to a house move. Tried to turn it on yesterday now we've got the internet installed and it wouldn't turn on.

Plugged the charger in and the screen still doesn't turn on, not even the battery icon to show it's charging

Just in case someone else is having this issue and sees this. The battery was completely dead, and plugging in the genuine charger sort out the issue.

Strange that the other chargers didn't do the job, but at least now I know for future. Only tried this when i was boxing it up to return it, as the genuine charger was in the box and had never been used.

Anyone else on CM13?

This is the first Cyanogenmod I've ever flashed on any device... Not sure how I've managed to avoid it for so long.
Wasn't having any issues with the Pure Nexus rom, but like a change.

Decent day-to-day performance, and another improvement compared with Google's stock mess.

Does CM13 have encryprion? I stopped using my N9 because it was a bit laggy with the stock ROM, and then I put the N Beta on and it was even worse (expected really).

I guess it would, but ran that same zip, as I had for previous ROMs after flash, before boot. Will go and find the name, as can't remember it off top of head!

I'm very happy with how CM13 is performing on this. It has now, near enough, replaced the laptop for me around the house, and always take it with me now.

Edit: Fedpatcher

I never have a pin on my device, and don't worry it about being stolen...
Assuming it just works, as the initial boot time didn't take several thousand years, and the tablet boot time is a decent bit faster.

I obviously did something wrong because CM13 wouldn't boot on my 9. So I ended up just flashing the stock ROM on but used that fedpatcher to turn off enforced encryption. It's made a world of difference.

Yeah, I saw the same using it on the stock rom, a bit disappointing that encryption is forced... It's a much nicer device to use without.

Just a note, I'm not 100% it'll take security updates now, when they are made available. Seem to remember it failing at reboot. If an update does apply, then I believe it will re-enable encryption.

How did you flash CM13? Did you use TWRP?

Edit: Nexus Root Toolkit is a pretty handy app to have installed. It'll flash the latest stock ROM, and disable forced encryption at the touch of a button. No hassle!
