***Nexus One Thread***

Does the Nexus have a music player app similar to the iPod app?

Yea has a built in player but its meh.. BUTTTTT the beauty of android means we can go to the market and get a different kind of MP3 player. Android is pretty open as a platform.

Im sure there is something similar on the market.

Ordered on the 12th too, but it still says "Google Phone Webstore received your order" as my last update.

Knowing my luck, the bank are trying to be "helpful" and prevent my obviously stolen card from being used to buy expensive things

Ah someone is dragging their heels then. Nationwide stopped the transaction on mine because they thought it looked dodgy, they rang me and asked me about it before I had the chance to ring them.

Went through the second time though.

Looks like my Nexus is in the East Midlands somewhere now! (Sorry lol).

DHL invoice arrived today....

£65.03 to pay. They sent it to work and it was immediately scanned, entered into the organisation's finance system, coded, tagged and then shredded by the time I got an email to say "that invoice you asked us to look for came in this morning".

I've managed to pay it, but frankly, seeing how I gave oodles of notice to our office finance team that it might be sent to work, they can sort the paperwork mess they've created now. Fools.

Still loving this phone. Big time.

Any news on the O2 MMS issue? :( . I've started using HandcentSMS to stop my phone turning texts that go over 480 characters turning into MMS's which has helped, but I still can't send photos AT ALL (not even the thumbnails some people get).

Not sure about 02, I'm struggling with MMS' on Orange at the moment...

MMS works fine on t-mobile. I couldn't receive them at first but as soon as I send an MMS to someone (or even myself) the correct settings were set automatically.

Anyone tried sending an MMS to themselves? I know this works on Orange as until last month I'd been with them for 10 years.

That's all well and good, but at this rate the X10 will NEVER get here :p

Plus, 1.6 + UI mod's = Slow upgrade path, if there is one at all. I did look seriously at these. Don't regret my decision.... Yet :p

The 2.1 upgrade is due in April and also talk of 2.2 in Q4. :p

And 2.1 has been due on the Hero since it was announced.... Even if it does it won't happen as quickly as it would on a stock build, especially if that stock build was one "the" Google Android phone, ie the Nexus

Anyone having touch screen problems, with everything going all over the place and random buttons getting pressed (without you pressing them?) Had that last night and earlier today, and came across a 48 page, two and a half month old thread on the problem here -

Google don't seem to care...in fact, their whole customer support is almost non-existent. If this has to go back or gets worse I'm jumping ship to Apple :(

Not had any issues with mine. In the odd game (klondike solitaire) I get an unresponsive screen in the top-left corner (in landscape mode) but all is fine if I restart the game so it's obviously not the screen that's the issue but the application.

It does seem a minority are getting dodgy screens though, which happens to all makes and models of tech gear. I'd suggest getting a replacement from HTC.

Good luck.

So the MMS problem isn't sorted then I assume. Might have to jump to Vodaphone or something. I usually send/receive quite a few MMS and it's getting annoying.

Edit:

Can't believe I missed this, but I had one of the APN's set up just *slightly* wrong. I'd left the APN type (right at the bottom) set to "not set" on my "mobile web" APN instead of actually typing in "default". While this made my internet access work flawlessly (making me think it was the MMS APN that was wrong), it was making no MMS come through at all. Will just test now to see if Handcent is spoofing my phone as an iPhone so I can receive large images or just small ones (only got a 25kb one so far).

Edit2:

Nope, just getting tiny photos coming through, I think I can send them fine though.

I still don't know why everyone is surprised Google doesn't care  Its made quite obvious all over the warranty paper and on the order page that its HTC built. That would suggest to me that you contact HTC if it breaks, but clearly I'm alone there....

HTC UK are a good bunch of guys, my dead pixel-ed phone was replaced quickly and efficiently. Top marks IMO
