***Nexus One Thread***

Best FRF91 ROM for an SLCD Nexus One ?

a lot of ROM's give me no display once installed ! Is it that hard to add the SLCD driver/support ?

Seems like the development on the Nexus is dropping off in favour of the Desire.

Well after 6 months of ownership my Nexus One it seems my power button has just given up.
The last couple of weeks it has taken numerous presses of the power button to wake up the phone or to turn it on, just today it has completely given up.

Will have to try and catch HTC support through the week to get some assistance.

Poor little Nexus, worries me though that it only took 6 months of phone usage (and im not a very heavy user) to break the power button.

I had this about 6 weeks ago (had mine since beginning of March). Sometimes my power button was unresponsive where it would take 3-4 tries and on the odd occasion I had to pull the battery before it worked again. Then about a month ago it just started working again and I've never had this issue since. Seems to have rectified itself which makes me think it might be dust or fluff that gets underneath and mine just happens to have fallen out again

Try taking the back off and blowing some compressed are around the power button. No harm in trying :)

After reading about so many others having the same problem that seems to be linked to a weak physical connection I instantly discounted this. I have just tried your trick and it turned on straight away. So its went from totally dead to back on, Cheers for the Advice!

I will just have to keep an eye on it for the next month and see how it behaves....

No probs. It was just a shot in the dark! :p Hopefully the problem won't come back.

Has anyone noticed some weiredness with their screens? Occasionally mine won't let me tap/press an app on the second row, instead an app in the tray (LauncherPro) is selected again and launches. The only way to clear it and get it working is to Lock it and Unlock it.

Any ideas?

yeah i somtimes i get that issue no big problem though

You might be able to get them through Google as "Dev phone 3" (Their third developer phone, so you may need to register as a developer?) Or other than that? Ebay.

Vodafone have stopped selling them, and google.com/phone is now a site to showcase phones, not sell them, so I think ebay is your best bet I'm affraid

i got a nexus 1 from vodafone a about a week ago, also running a galaxy s dunno what 1 to keep

Really? I was under the impression they were no longer for retail sale? That's awesome, was it old stock?

You know you want to keep the Nexus, twist Galaxy and then the Nexus in turn, IMO the Galaxy feels a lot cheaper.

Is anyone else considering upgrading to the Desire Z/T-Mob G2 btw? I'm tempted if they can root it properly

yeah it was new stock, its still in there magazine best bet pop into vodafone and ask next 1 up would be the desire but i was speaking to the sales man/ my m8 hes the manger of the store apartly the HD is coming quite soon as well. as for the galaxy love the screen and some of the other stuff it can do i might just hang onto both say have a change ever week or somthing

Expansys has them in stock.

Its been a while since this thread was last bumped but I have only got up the courage to root my phone to have now encountered an issue. Im currently reading up on it but I thought I would try a quick post in the meantime encase anyone else has experienced this....

I have been following instructions on Nexus One Hacks to install Cyanogen 7 on the Nexus one, after getting all the way to the end and according to the phone I sucessfully flashed the Rom, im stuck on what appears to be the Cyanogen Boot and it just keeps looping it over a 3 second period.

Luckily I carried out a "Nandroid?" backup and i have just restored the phone back to working order.

Can anyone shed any light on the Boot Loop issue?

Blast from the past!

3 seconds? That's not a boot loop :p That's the stock CM animation

When flashing ROMs the first boot takes FOREVER, give it time :)
