Kareem Hunt released by the Chiefs
Just seen that, saying the chiefs had spoken to him about "an incident" but he wasn't "truthful".
surprised that this happened in february, the police didn't see any reason to charge anyone, even after they'd seen the video.
That's a kicker for them.
If the story is true (she was apparently calling him a ******* N word) and you can see her piling in you can't really blame him. Have they released him in general for an assault or because it's a woman?
Also, he's not done himself any favours by lying to the Chiefs.
I thought the problem was that he was asked in Feb after the initial rumors and he lied, now the Chiefs have seen the video it doesn't match what he said back then.Definitely this is a bit silly, although tbf, someone asks me to recount something now that happened in February, there's a good chance it wont be all that accurate!
saw details that it was a case of her being abusive, 2 sides of the origin of the story from what i can see either:
a) he entered a room of someone he knew, found out 2 women in there were only 19 and tried to get them to leave
or
b) she said he had a go because she refused to "go" with one of the blokes there.
as for the release i would think it was based on abuse of a female, as in line with the few instances of abuse/domestic abuse recently, one of which saw foster released (think it was from the 49ers ?)
this just keeps getting stranger and a bit worse for hunt:
1) The league also has been investigating an incident involving Hunt allegedly punching a man in the face at an Ohio resort in June. The NFL is believed to have found enough from that incident to add to Hunt's discipline.
2) The league never saw the video and it doesn't appear the police did either.
"The victims have not yet filed charges. The statute of limitations does allow victims to still file charges in the wake of the videos, but Monday is the earliest that can happen"
is it me or does that just seem daft that they can now come back and file charges ?
due to there being 2 incidents if he's charged with both it could mean he's out for the rest of 2018 and a fair chunk of 2019
