NFL 2018 Season

That's a kicker for them.

Just seen that, saying the chiefs had spoken to him about "an incident" but he wasn't "truthful".

surprised that this happened in february, the police didn't see any reason to charge anyone, even after they'd seen the video.

If the story is true (she was apparently calling him a ******* N word) and you can see her piling in you can't really blame him. Have they released him in general for an assault or because it's a woman?

saw details that it was a case of her being abusive, 2 sides of the origin of the story from what i can see either:
a) he entered a room of someone he knew, found out 2 women in there were only 19 and tried to get them to leave
or
b) she said he had a go because she refused to "go" with one of the blokes there.

as for the release i would think it was based on abuse of a female, as in line with the few instances of abuse/domestic abuse recently, one of which saw foster released (think it was from the 49ers ?)

They are being super hard on domestic abuse. I've just tried to check, wouldn't they technically need to be in a relationship for it to be domestic abuse, or am I being naive?

I do wonder about this. Not that I would condone it or support Hunt, but all he really did was push her twice that I could see, and kind of kick her? I say kind of, cause I think I would more call it a push with his foot! I guess I just wonder players have probably done much more and not had their careers ruined. Is it reasonable?

Mine you, it was said she had cuts and bruises, so their could be more than what was seen in the video.

i would just class it as abuse on a female, but i think its getting linked with domestic abuse as theres been a few cases with nfl players, lets face it if it had been a bloke he'd more than likley still be in a job.

with the "metoo" movement and the crackdown on this sort of thing recently its always likely the punishment will be worse as its viewed differntly now.

from bits i've seen the nfl have tried to talk to people about the event but not had much co-operation.

Having watched the video I really don't think he can complain. As much as people might think it's unfair, as someone in the public eye - who other people probably look up to - he's got to conduct himself better than the average person, regardless of what is said or done to him to provoke him. Also, he's not done himself any favours by lying to the Chiefs.

Definitely this is a bit silly, although tbf, someone asks me to recount something now that happened in February, there's a good chance it wont be all that accurate!
I thought the problem was that he was asked in Feb after the initial rumors and he lied, now the Chiefs have seen the video it doesn't match what he said back then.

I could understand the release of it was in general for affray or some breach of similar policy. Releasing him just because she was a woman (and assuming the reports around her behaviours are as bad as said) them that is BS. Because she is a woman she has a free card to racually abuse him? That's all levels of wrong.

We don't, and probably won't, get the whole truth but taking it as said I would day Hunt has been hard done to and will be at another team next season.

this just keeps getting stranger and a bit worse for hunt:

1) The league also has been investigating an incident involving Hunt allegedly punching a man in the face at an Ohio resort in June. The NFL is believed to have found enough from that incident to add to Hunt's discipline.

2) The league never saw the video and it doesn't appear the police did either.

"The victims have not yet filed charges. The statute of limitations does allow victims to still file charges in the wake of the videos, but Monday is the earliest that can happen"

is it me or does that just seem daft that they can now come back and file charges ?

due to there being 2 incidents if he's charged with both it could mean he's out for the rest of 2018 and a fair chunk of 2019

Yeah, looks a little worse and he's done an interview admitting he was in the wrong. Maybe there is something we don't know.

From a purely football perspective be a shame if an electric chiefs team lose their edge because of one man.

just seen the following, maybe a bit unfair on hunt:

The video shows Hunt exchanging words with a woman before shoving her. She then strikes him in the face before he's pushed away. Hunt then shoves another man into the woman, pushing her to the floor. Hunt eventually makes his way over to her and kicks her in the leg while she is on the floor.
