Nice neighbours...

This is a flaw in the UK system/highway code. Were the guys who wrote it on crack ? Is it written to deliberately cause congestion ?

He's not really. This is horribly inefficient use of the roads, luckily here they advise 1+ meter of space and say ''if there is less than 1 meter space but you must overtake them anyways ( for example a cyclist) do so very slowly'', not ''give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car'', no wonder all you guys say cyclists also clog up the roads if you overtake them like that . It's not the cyclists, but the wrongly taught drivers overtaking them clogging your roads...

So did I, I used to cycle to school for 6 years on a road where many buses rode, I often got overtaken in a very small gap by a bus, this is normal, those guys are driving for a living, have a little trust...

In Holland, people know how to ride bikes :p

Also, your argument about trusting bus drivers fails:
bus crashes into bus stop and porsche.
