Nice to walk into a package when you get home..

After seeing matt100 powder coat in black, I'm doing the same :D. Yes, black may be a bit boring but it matches my Dell widescreen etc.

Lets put it this way, I knew I would end up ordering from America. Did so with my last setup 3 or 4 times.

Well poping into the shower and heading to B&Q to pick up some tools.

Well today I've started taking the thing apart.

Made a bit of a booboo, kinda of stood on the plastic switch housing and crushed it, but can get a replacement easily enough :)

This case looks fantastic. Would it be a total waste though if not planning on watercooling?

I would say it would be. The only thing I could think someone would want such a large case for a non water cooled rig would be to house LOADS of hard disks, more than say a V2000 even.

Not at all! You'd just have loads of space to play with! There are guys with MM UFO's that are on air it's not a waste... just a different way of doing things!

Like Mekrel says - you want a few HDD's - you got it!

If you've got the cash and want it then get!!! ;)

White is the new black would look great in white :D

If I get one, I was thinking of getting a couple of the Sythe Kama bays in white to break up the front panels a little.

AC Ryan Fans are available in the UK. On the first set I got, AC Ryan bought me a new ASUS motherboard and a Thermaltake fan controller (when you plugged the 3-pin fan into a 3-pin header it blew the solder fuse on the three-pin header).

The second set (the replacements that came with the new motherboard and fan controller) lasted 16 hours and then one caught fire. And AC Ryan bought me a new case, PSU, HDD and motherboard. In principal - the idea of a separate power connection for the LEDs seems good, but their stuff is made by the lowest bidder and the QA Manager must be on permanent holiday, because it's just appallingly badly put together.

By all means confirm, this for yourself, but the stuff I had was very poor quality.

How did you contact AC Ryan? Emailed them like two weeks back about the Radgrillz that they are doing for Thermochill rads but no reply? Grrr erks me right up when they can't take a minute to email you back.

I didn't - it was all done through the shop I bought them from. I'm sure you know the one.

Right, I want to buy some hi-fi seperate style round feet for the case instead of the castors.

Google doesn't seem to be helping me. As long as the feet have a large enough diameter so that I can use the original holes in the case then that will be great.

Then I can drill them and use some socket cap screws.

Swear I saw a thread on here where someone got hold of some metalic round feet.

;)

How about some ATCs feet, if not just buy a cheap cheap bit of broken hifi gear and take the feet that way, you can get a nice case to mod a ITX system into that way too. :D

Yep - Yewen's right. I remember that thread... i was the one that suggested the bay for a broken piece of HIFI.

Here's the thread - Linky

Look for older Yamaha, Marantz, Pioneer and Sony. They all did decent feet on a lot of their larger kit! :)

Plan is to installed a dual watercooling loop into it, have the innards powder coated black.

PA120.3 in the front of course, and a PA120.2 in the top me thinks.

Not sure exactly how though, any ideas?

I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

Front I/O had it's first layer of pain rouged up and any run/overlap marks were sanded out. Had part of it's second layer. I/O should be finished by the weekend, such long time for a tiny part but mainly down to drying time

Found these replacement furniture feet, they were very tall but you could dismantle them and I spotted the kind of feet I'm after!

So took them apart, only to find 3 holes in them already for how they were attached, yet I was in luck!

The holes do not get in the way or overlap the holes the case already uses :D

These were just what I was after.

The case itself is currently touring Wales, well ok it's actually in a powder coaters in Wales.

Black, inspired by Matt100 and his PC7 powdercoated internals, but there will be lighting inside which is where black comes into play - no reflections of the light.
