Nico Rosberg disciplined by Mercedes for Hamilton collision

Mercedes lost out on a 1-2 so thats why they are upset. Now each driver will be treading on egg shells.

Yeah good point but hopefully Hamilton pushes harder. After the race, BBC interviewed Rosberg and asked him he regretted what happened and he said he did and that cost him first place. Found it unusual that he didn't say it cost the team a 1-2 and max points instead.

I don't believe Rosberg did it on purpose.. Sabotage that is
It was clumsy
The problem is that it was team mates and lots of wcc points lost
Have seen this sort of incident many times
The guy trying the overtake almost understeers into the guy on the outside

I'd hope it's a massive warning rather than team orders.
But I wouldn't blame them for using team orders now

I can only assume from Mercedes 'disciplining' Rosberg that Hamiltons quote of what Nico said, 'I did it on purpose' is actually true otherwise it would have been chalked up to a racing incident.

No they did it because he drove like a **** head, likely nothing to do with anything he supposed said. They were livid with him before he even got out of the car and said it would be dealt with. That was before all the other nonscense.

Nico would have been disciplined for the come together aswell as not saying the right things in front of the camera. He is German so too stubborn to even pretend he cares for team/constructors in front of the cameras.

Least Hamilton pretends he does :p

I'm in Lewis' corner on this, and am a lewis fan overall, but I've got to give it to Rosberg this season, he's been holding his own and out qualifying Lewis. I won't begrudge him the title.

I much prefer Rosberg to Hamilton, can't stand Hamilton tbh.

Don't think Rosberg necessarily hit him on purpose (why would he jeopardise his own chances as well?) but I understand why Mercedes would be upset by the whole thing.

This is the problem, the words were taken out of context. When Rosberg said he did it on purpose he was referring to the fact that he wasn't going to pull out of the move or yield. He purposely kept that line. He wasn't saying that he purposely meant to hit Hamilton and ruin his race, or more likely, ruin his own race.

Fixed that for you, finally you talk some sense.

Has this topic really got itself a new thread? Though we'd done it to death already :)

Love the way that Mercedes said both drivers are free to race, and now they're disciplining one of their drivers for doing what they said they could. Back to team orders for Mercedes zzz.

One of their drivers definitely won't be with them next year though, whichever one loses the title I guess, that's for sure. I agree with Mark Webber, they haven't got a "team" with both Hamilton and Rosberg together.

Interestingly one of their drivers has a contract till 2017...and it isn't Lewis!

I guess he will be running back into daddy Ron's arms at Mclaren to see if he can win another title!

I doubt Rosberg will care when he claims the championship.

But the British fans will hound him for life just like they did with Suarez during the World Cup. :p

I wonder though how many drivers believe that it was a racing accident or done on purpose? That could play into Lewis's favour during quali or race day if drivers decide to react to Nico. I know it will never happen as they're professional but if Button and Chilton decided to become a nuisance to Nico that would be great. :D

What's with the German driver, German team nonsense. Can you even count the number of foreign drivers who have driven for an all-British team over the years? There will be hundreds in F1 alone. Do you think they were all stitched up too?

Rosberg barely counts as German anyway. He's hardly a figure of national pride.

What the **** are you on about? Were you meant to reply to my post?

Funny how Lewis has said he's never crashed in that way into any other car or teammate, what a liar. As one f1 journalist pointed out, he forgets what he's done, quite conveniently, and said, especially when he stupidly attempted to drive through his teammate in Canada and ended up worse off.
