Night Owl - Thread

I didn't like the first, mainly because of the clunky combat, but the second is really really fun imo, I'm not a fan of a lot of games either, mainly SC2, Mobas are fun, mainly dota and got a big thing for MMO's, tried out like every mmo possible lol.

I've not really had any problems but I don't really game online so not sure how it would effect your ping etc, it's easy to change the dns on your pc, just try it out for a while, any problems then just revert back, I used to just use it on my PS3 initially but I kept opening netflix on my PC forgetting it was the UK one which was a pain.

Just had a look at the witcher 2 and I have to say the game world looks gorgeous.
Might make a nice workout for my new gpu.
I've never played skyrim either. Is that much different?

I still doubt I could get into it, but you never know.
I think the problem is that I have a friend that loves rpg's. Japanese rpg's in particular...
Having sat there and watched for a bit on several occasions, I find myself thinking 'wtf is going on here?' :D
 
heh, jrpgs are confusing, but yeah, witcher 2 looks amazing, tbh I didn't like skyrim a whole lot, only got 13hours played.

I love games but I feel the same, it's rare for a game to grab these days, I also have never really been into rpg's or strategy (don't think my brains cut out for it:o), wish I could get into them as I have a few friends that seem to be able to lose themselves for hours in these types of games, I'm more of a Arcade racer/shooter kinda person.

Outside of those types of games though I'd recommend Alan Wake, I really enjoyed that and the chapters are split into 'episodes' with 're-caps' like a tv serial which is good for pacing, you can just do an episode at a time which is what I did.
 
I did play Alan wake a couple of times at a mate's. Was pretty decent with a good atmosphere. Might have to take another look.

I'm a driver/shooter guy too. Was really big into the driving (Forza 3/4 + GT5) and raced in small league for a while but like an idiot I sold my steering wheel (dfgt) a couple of months before I ended up buying a decent PC... *Derp*

I'm not sure about Borderlands. I'll check out some more vids on that shortly I think.
Gotta say, those witcher 2 graphics may be enough to entice me into strange new ground...

Do you have a 360 pad? You could always play a good few racing games with that, obviously the more arcadey games such as F1 and DiRT but its better than nothing :p

pCars isn't too bad with a controller as well and that's like a half-sim.
 
Yeah I've a 360 pad for the PC, but tbh, after having a wheel, playing games like F1 with a pad is a horrible experience for me at least. Getting shaken up by the FFB on DiRT would be sorely missed too alas...

Forza was great with a pad though.

I think I'll wait til I can afford (ok, justify) a Fanatec or maybe a G27.

I dunno, I think I've developed some form of ADD or something. I've got a few good games sitting on the HD that need playing and I keep buying a new one here and there.

What games are floating your boats lately? Any genre.

Had a great night watching The Blair Witch Project and drinking beer with my gf. We watch TBWP at the beginning of every Autumn, it's a tradition.

Now listening to music and relaxing with some Guinness.
 
Surely its too early for this? Either way im awake experimenting taking pictures of the moon with a modified xbox live webcam, although clouds just rolled in so only managed to get the top part :(
