Night Owls

My dog is nearly 16, lots of things wrong with him which are associated with old age and he's on 3 lots of tablets.

Woke up in bed realising I'd not heard a peep from him since 9.30 when he was taken outside and lying in bed I convinced myself he'd popped his little clogs.

Just went into the front room and he's peacefully asleep on his chair :)

My mind is all over the place now, I was even thinking about where he was going to be buried in the garden :(

Good to hear. My dog that was bought for me as a 4 year old child died aged 16. Obviously I had him from when I was a child through to being a man. Gutted me when he went. But he had a good life and I'm sure your dog has too.

However, nice to hear he's just snoozing the hours away :)

Just got back from a 3 hour explore/drive during the storm we just had. Was good. Exotic cars we went in too, a diesel Golf and a diesel Octavia... Time for bed now though! :)

Thanks Rob

Glad to hear your dog had a good long life too :)

I'd wait to start right on the hour in 20 mins. :) My film and drama logjam is also considerable. Up to date with Westworld now, but, man, there's just so much other stuff they put out during the week! I think my New Year's resolution this year will be a complete digital detox. :o Also trying to poke [harmlessly] a few friends online. Most are asleep though.

not much i want to watch, i don't like watching series 1 episode a week these days.

if anyone's bored and has some good google fu.
can see if you can find an official website to confirm date of this event.

I've given up trying to predict my sleeping pattern. I'm a firm believer in listening to what your body tells you, so if I'm tired when the missus turns in at around 10.30pm I'll go to bed, but if I'm still fairly alert (sometimes, inexplicably, I'll get a 'second wind' around 8 or 9pm), I'll happily stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning - in either case with an alarm set for 6.30am.

I guess it kind of figures - by all accounts I was a nightmare as a toddler when it came to sleep ... I basically wouldn't. My Dad used to work night shifts and would often be climbing the stairs at some ungodly hour of the morning desperate for sleep, only to be met by a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed me, wide awake behind the child gate into my room.

What I can't get my head round is that I always feel worse the following day if I go to bed at 10.30 compared to silly-o'clock in the morning - I seem to get no benefit from that additional 3.5 hours kip ...

The point through your sleep cycle will have a drastic effect on how tired you feel throughout the day I've found. I usually hit a rut where anywhere between six and six and a half hours will cause me to feel incredibly tired, seven hours of sleep does me fine, but anything over seven and a half will leave me tired again.

Worth having a look into and doing some reading online about circadian rhythm and sleep cycles.

Wind is mad here, heard something crash outside :p Will check in morning

You down south datalol?

Yup. Had one skip lorry overturn today already in the area. There's also a massive tree outside right opposite my window... if I don't return tomorrow/today, it means we've made close acquaintance and I'm looking for a new window. :p
