Nightwish - Holy Cow!!

Floor though, his voice can be incredible! Like old school 70s rock band incredible.. Not showing it much since Tarja left, but in one song when she's still in it, you can clearly hear him, and by god I wish that voice could come out more. That bit I heard of his singing I truly would compare the style to Robert Plant and Axl Rose.. Just a shame he doesn't sing like that much anymore, cause we NEED proper 70s rock singers

Presume you mean Marco and not Floor? If so check out any of the 10,000 bands he's been in or guested on.

I found Nightwish by pure chance when I was on Youtube one night and they popped up randomly. Utterly awesome band. Watch Wacken - I love this, simply stunning live show:-

Especially if you can appreciate the background to it the gigs performed when Floor was first brought in. There was a documentary on YT called 'Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours' which was a complete eye opener, but it looks like YT have removed it. Well worth seeking out and watching though.

As far as the new album is concerned, I love it but I can see how it can be a bit 'marmite' from diehard fans.

Floor is absolutely amazing. I went to the UK leg of the Imaginaerum tour when Floor replaced Anette and my gawd it was good. They switched out Song of Myself for Ghost Love Score and when I heard the opening drums I melted a little.

Also, Marco is a bass and vocal god.

Got Endless Forms Most Beautiful with the bonus instrumental CD (was only £2 more than the normal single CD so why not?!).

First impressions are WOW! Still warming to Floors vocal style (nothing will touch NW with Tarja for me as that was a signature style that can never be recreated) but the music is incredible.

It does feel quite like Dark Passion Play 2.0 on the opening but soon branches out more (in a very good way).

Needs a few listens to let it sink in but I feel this is a serious return to form following the (subjectively) dissapointing DPP & Imaginarium.

I'm just rediscovering nightwish, I remember loving Nemo when it was on MTV rock rotation back when I was at school. Some great videos guys thanks for the links.

I do not like the band these days (don't dislike them as such, just not something I'd listen to any more) but in my younger days I loved them. They were brilliant live like.

Must have been back in 2002 or 2003 when I seen them though and Bloodstock

Yup just looked, 2003. 2002 was the Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray and Threshold year - best line up of my life at the time.

Man...feel so old and not even 30 just yet...damn

Listened to Endless Forms Most Beautiful about 6 times now and it is growing on me, sadly Floor is not. Just sounds like After Forever/Revamp with better backing music... *sigh* :(

On major problem I have though is "Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge" (written & composed by Tuomas) is (imo) just a better album.

It also doesn't help when I switch back to Once after listening to Endless all the way through.... Tarja and Ghost Love Score...

I found Endless Forms Most Beautiful far better than Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum but I doubt anything will ever top Once. I thought that lots of Endless Forms also sounded incredibly similar to previous albums in some places..

I'm finding Endless forms is an album which just gets better and better with every listen. I see some people on various online forums and FB are still bashing Floor's ability in comparison to Tarja and Anette. As a relative newcomer to Nightwish, I can't grasp this bashing stuff. I've listened to Floor, Anette and Tarja and they all have their plus and negative points. I do however believe that Floor is maturing into an excellent front singer for the band and dare I say it, outshines both previous vocalists in many ways. I think Endless forms needs a good few listens before you can start to appreciate it fully. I've been listening to it over and over during the last few weeks and it really does get better and better. My most enjoyable listening sessions have been in the gym on the stationary bike pushing 20km on a cardio session. It's an album that truly motivates you to go the distance!!

There are some utter classics in there within Endless Forms. Listen to it a few times and try to like it......it will come.....and then all of a sudden there will be a lightbulb moment and you will think.....bloody hell....!!!! This is incredible!!

Can't wait for the live footage of the Vancouver concert. Will be awesome. Hope Jukka is doing well, must have been a massive decision to drop out and take 5 to sort himself out. Kai is really doing a great job keeping Jukka's seat warm.....

Some classic night wish - first one I love playing along on the drums to:

Superb vocals

Love this tune from Within Temptation

Epica - Cry the Moon

Older epica one of my favs:

Next album.. one of the best..

Burnt to a cinder is another favourite

She's got an awesome voice and vocal range IMO. And something else, she just feels and sounds 'right' to me. The documentary covering her joining the band and having to learn the set list and lyrics in 48 hours is brilliant.

The latest NW album is just out m8, 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' :-

It's utterly, utterly, epic. :D

Whelp caved and bought tickets for their Wembley gig, Nightwish, Amorphis and Arch Enemy are a weird selection, would have preferred Delain and Sabaton like the current US tour.

It's been a few years since I've seen Floor sing live so it was time to go again.

Awesome. Seeing them live is on my bucket list! A pity Jukka is taking a leave of absence although Kai is doing an excellent job slotted in there to take Jukka's place.

Well I did it!!

I was at Wembley last night, sold out, and I was right at the front!

Awesome performance, I also really enjoyed Arch Enemy.
