Nikon d50 stolen out of car.Insurance but what replacement?

Hi all, my camera was stolen out of my dads car the other night. But i know that the d50 is not manufactured any more so what would be the equivilant replacement.

the d40 replaced it, but i would be getting a d70/s

Or a D80?

I personally wouldn't buy a D40 because of it's lack of AF points (only 3), no bracketing, and no internal AF motor.

thing is tho is the cost...i think it was around £500. i think. you know how insurance companies work.

The D80 is worth the extra money, get it if you can.

Depending on how much you get from the insurance and if you still have all your lenses you might want to put it towards a D80 which you can get body only for around £500. Otherwise maybe a D40x at around £320 including £60 cashback or maybe even another D50 which you can pick up 2nd hand or refurb for about £250

yep..as my dad said i spend £450 on it before i had chance to say anything. like maybe say i had more than 1 lens

. So i had to suggest the d40x as a replacement.

If i could have found the d80 for around £500 all in then i would have pushed for it.
