Nildram

More like up to a week.
maybe im thinking about when they re-grade you from 2megabit -> 1megabit?
it took me 5-7 days from cancelling one provider to be hooked up with plusnet ;)
i'd have hope'd the migration would take abit less than that!!?!

So, just to clear things up a little.

First I have to ring AOL to get a MAC code.

Then e-mail/ring Nildram that I want to sign up and give MAC code or send MAC code via the online process.

Then wait for Nildram to send out the stuff/confirmation.

When migrated, do i have to tell AOL, or is that done via Nildram/BT.

How do I cancel my AOL account?

Oh right, sorry, thought when you said 'AOL don't need to be told anything' I assumued you meant dont ringt them.

Thanks

I wasn't particularly clear, meh. I meant you don't need to tell them you've left (because a) they'll be told and b) they should at the very least assume it).

Ok, thanks a lot for your help guys.

Ill probably ring AOL in the next day or two and ask for MAC code - what if they say no? :p

They're signed up to the Ofcom code of practice IIRC, so they can't say no.

Have you been with them for more than your 12 month contract?

Very happy Nilly customer here. Excellent pings, great uptime (apart from when they changed a load of pipes and routers, but that was all done within a week or two and I was kept informed the entire time via email). The 50gig cap is more generous than a lot of ISP's and you do get free (but speed and download limited) usenet access. No traffic shaping either.

used Nildram for 2 years, found their service flawless, apart from their major re-grading time when it all went a bit shakey.

Technical support was amazing, I was able to ring them at 12am sunday morning at one point when my line was having difficulties due to BT

yep, same here, and the fact that you can have unlimed downloads out of peak hours is great too.

cant recomend them enough tbh, a great service for the last 1.5 years:)

Whats 'regrade' mean?

Also I suppose im looking to cancel my AOL account when migrating, or would than also cancel the payment which would go to Nildram?
