Any one here rate Nine inch Nails?

Never been able to get in to them at all. But recently I have been listing to stuff that remind me of NIN.

Any albums that you recommended?

This is a track I like. I like the irregular beat and constant shift in beats etc...

Massive massive fan. About the only artist I can listen to whatever mood I am in. Start with With Teeth and move backwards. I used to really not like a lot of the older stuff but now I love it.

The Downward Spiral, With Teeth, Year Zero.

It's all on Spotify.

I like this:

NIN are an incredible recording and live performance 'band' with immense variety.

I think I could pick a track to suit any occassion - party, relaxing, heavy, dirty, atmospheric and countless others.

Just a few tracks I'd wager well worth a listen, no matter your taste, are: 01 Ghosts I, 04 Ghosts I, A Warm Place, La Mer, The Fragile, The Day the World Went Away, Closer.

Should give you half an hour of interesting listening :)

They're the best band I've seen live. The show they put on is simply unparalleled. The light show... Just... wow.

Their stuff crops up in quite a few mash ups, so I've been exposed to some of their stuff. Planning to pick up some of the early albums.

To be honest with you, I have been listening to a lot of Depech Mode recently.

I would say there is a little bit of similarity to NIN, except NIN is lot more metal and industrial, whilst DM is more pop/synth, but there is definetly some overlaps.

I'v just finished my first listen of 'With teeth' album, and I quite like it so will take a listening to the other albums recommended above.

I particulalry enjoyed 'Sunspots'.

Some parts of The Fragile are more synthy than the balls out rock you also get with NIN. If you like mellow atmospheric Nails, then check out the Still album. Came as a bonus disc with a live album a few years back.

Pretty Hate Machine is the most DM like but Reznor's music has evolved dramatically since then. Not every song is fantastic, but many are. Every album has something superb on it. Avoid the soundtrack stuff for a while, although Ghosts is a very rewarding listen.

Check out Thisoneisonus for officially endorsed live material etc. The Gift is def worth getting. Light show is simply amazing and its in high def after Reznor released over 400hrs of hi-def footage for fans to play around with.

I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVE NIN! The Fragile has to be by far one of my favorite albums ever by a long shot. Just so much variety to NIN wether you want to listen to hard industrial rock such as Reptile or the more partyish such as "only" to the sheer anthems that get everyone singing such as "The day the world went away". NIN caters for it all, and does it excellently at that.

I just hope beyond hope that they come back to the UK at some point as ive yet to see them and its one of my goals in life to see Trent Reznor live hehe.

Just a selection for your listening pleasure.

Quite upbeat and good for dancing to.
Again another cheery dancing song.
a lot more industrial and anthem like.
very industrial
Great video
Really relaxing song thats nice to chill out too while at the same time still being a bit funky
Probably as industrial as you'll get...and I love it :)
Pretty good song and good video too, Has marilyn manson in it.
Great song

Sorry for the ridiculously long list guys. Just showing how good Trent Reznor is and the different variations in his music. If you search up his live performances they are always incredible.

I have great respect for NIN and Trent, hes a great musician and despite all the mixups with the groupings etc seems to always pull out albums of real worth.

I dont neccessarily care to much for the genre style but if someone told me to listen to an album I wouldnt cry about it.

I have a couple myself but there not on my regular listening list. Some of the youtube comments sum NIN really well:

"I am 95% deaf with a Cochlear Implant and I know that this music is ****ing stellar."

Probably my favourite band and easily the best I've seen live. The Fragile and The Downward Spiral are without a doubt his best works but tbh they are all must owns imo.
