Nintendo Wii U misses out on latest 'Tomb Raider' title due to unconventional controller

The 4 year here loves using the LCD screen on the game pad
No one been able to pull her away from it from around 10.30am till 7pm today..;)

Oh no doubt, great amusement for kids and the likes.

But growing up with Nintendo being on Top to now being the clown, I just don't know why anyone would want to play proper games (using the tomb raider title as an example) on a wii/wii U

They would fair better sticking to handhelds or growing a pair and giving sony/ms some competition with a real gamers console.

Just my opinion.

in 20 years, your daughter will think that that generations console is rubbish as compared to her growing up with a wii! :p

Have you used one?

So your opinion is not really a valid one :p

I'll agree that I could have give the U a bit more time, but it offers nothing to me compared to ps3/360.

The normal wii was okay, but again not my thing.

EVERY other console/hand held I have had 2 hours on has impressed me more that's all.

My opinion is valid as it's my own...as is yours of mine not being valid :p

I bought the Wii U for the exclusives and had it in mind this is more of a secondary console, so I'm not fussed when a game won't be ported to the platform due to lazy developers.

I think Nintendo are going to struggle with the Wii U. I read an interview with Cliff Bleszinski who pretty much expected the Wii U to die and Nintendo to continue as a software company.

It will be a shame but is the most likely outcome to this generation I think as its not getting the 3rd party support and with the proper next gens coming this year it will not be able to compete and go the same way as Sega. The question is how long it can last, I'll give it until summer 2014, Christmas if it's lucky :(

That would be a shame as I really used to like Nintendo. The NES, SNES, N64 were all amazing. Nintendo lost me from the Gamecube onwards.

LOL like that is gonna happen while they dominate the hand held market

Weren't people saying something similar when the 3DS was early in it's lifecycle. Now look at it, 30 million units shipped and only getting stronger.

The 3DS has strong first party and 3rd party support and its competing console was the Vita which is doing horribly. I'm not sure the Wii U will have the same fate as the 3DS. Would be nice if it did though.

Let me tell you.
When Zelda Wind Waker U and the 3d mario game come out this thing will sell like you wont believe.
I promise you that.

I seriously think it could shock a lot of people and turn out to be one of the best gaming consoles ever.
