Am I the only one who's not even remotely interested in the Nintendo Wii?

Not really i go hot and cold on it to be honest.

And isnt having 2 accounts on ocuk a bannable offense??

Here although I've noticed that they've taken down the job I'm in which is 'Games Tester' or 'QA software tester.' Something like that anyway.

I also worked for EA games last summer and got my hands on a 360 at about this time last year, not that there was anything good running on it though.

I emailed several Dons/admins about locking myself out about it a couple of days ago but have yet to receive a response.

So, how did you get £170?

No UK price has been confirmed yet, although everything seems to be pointing at between £150 and £170.
everyone bear in mind what ninty did last time. on the gc, annouced price as 150, upped it to 170 about a month b4 launch, and the actual launch price was 130

i dont care if your a games tester, you seem ot be alone in your opinion anyway

I'm still open to the Wii but several things put me off:

1. The actual console isn't as much of a technical advance as I would like, I know gameplay over graphics bla bla bla but why buy a new console unless it is going to be a big leap over previous ones. I have a 360, while it's not as much of a leap as say PS2 over PS1 it is still a large improvement, the Wii is more powerful than the GC sure but I don't know if it is a large enough leap to keep me happy.

2. Nintendo has the stigma of their consoles having mainly 'kiddy' games, whilst this certainly isn't true for every game it is a true overall statement. The GC probably has 3 kiddy games to every 1 'adult' title.

I realise they are concerntrating on gameplay and innovation like their new controller, but I think the novelty of that will wear off quite quickly.

As I said I am still open to it, but I want to see some big improvements over the GC.

It's been announced that it will be a "maximum" of 250 Euros in Europe.

So in the UK its got to be £179 at the most. Although we pay 17.5% tax, the french pay even more!

I'm reckoning between £139 and £169 myself. No doubt the controllers will cost a small fortune though and anyone wanting to get 4 controllers asap will have to shell out some serious dough.

Reckon you'll be looking at £24.99-£29.99 for the pads (wavebirds were about that), i'm hoping that they will bundle either 2 wiimotes or 1 wiimote and 1 classic pad with the console to make it a bit less painful :p

Theres a lot of things which nintendo have kept well under their hat which im very interested in seeing what the plan is:

Console (price)
Launch dates (will it be worldwide launch, nearly worldwide or Europe getting shafted again!)
Virtual console (games we gonna see at launch, price)
Games (launch titles, price)

Hopefully Reggie will sort this stuff out September 14th :)

andersons not on his own with his wii opinion. i myself am a bit sceptical, don't get me wrong ,ill get one,but cannot see myself standing up and playing tennis or mario.
