Nissan Juke

Fair enough, ganesh's points were all about the styling, but this car's faults aren't limited to that.

It's a soft-roader which is terrible off road, and has the looks of a people carrier, but with none of the space. It can do absolutely nothing it's looks insinuate except let the driver and passengers sit 6" above everyone else on the road. If that's what you want, buy yourself a good car and a booster seat from Babies R' Us.

+1

I really don't see this car's "purpose". Who and what is it marketed for? Because that 6" remark seems pretty much all i can think of.

In addition to the reason and functionality of the car, IMO It's the second worst looking car out there (excluding the excalibre one-off), first being the Multipla.

So let's analyse all the 'faults' of this car according to you.

It's terrible off road .. ok, well, far as I'm aware, offroading is not something everyone needs, otherwise, they'd buy a car suitable for off road. Surprising that isn't it. I know my nephew has no interest in that, he just needs it to travel 40 miles to work and back several times a month.

It has the looks of a people carrier but with none of the space.. well my nephew presumably likes or doesn't mind the looks. If he'd needed more space, he would have bought a bigger car, no?

He can sit higher than other cars.. very nice. :)

buy yourself a good car.. hang on, last time I checked, Nissan were one of the japanese names known for reliability. Seeing as it's a popular car and there's apparently lots of them on the road, I imagine it's doing ok and isn't getting a reputation for breaking down. In my book, reliability is the biggest factor in determining a 'good' car. If someone now tells me it actually IS an unreliable car that is known for being in the garage a lot, then fair enough. Until then, how are all your points remotely important as being faults? If someone needs a car that has lots more space and does offroading, they'd look for one wouldn't they?

Good choice if you have a travel system or large pram, the boot on ours barely fits an umbrella pushchair and half a dozen bags of shopping.

I haven't exposed the secret boot yet the missus just thinks there's a wheel in there, she'll only fill it with junk.

Yeah we are looking at getting an iCandy Peach which is quite big. Spoke to my uncle about his and says they are unable to fit their grandchilds stroller in the boot!

Nissan in my opinion have got the specs spot on with regards to 'standard' equipment in each range vs price.

defensive rant...

woah man relax. apologies if my post came across as harsh. just saying it how I saw it.

youre bound to get a less than positive reaction on a motoring enthusiast forum if you mention coming from a enthusiast orientated vehicle to a relatively mundane vehicle. you should have expected it really.

I'm just going to leave it at 'Nice Car M8' and avoid further comment.

I really wish I had bought one of these as a 2nd car when they were doing the ridiculously cheap PCP deals on these.

There's 70,000 Jukes on the road and 22,000 Yetis, yet the Yeti is supposed to be quite good. To me it's the Juke that's quite popular and a few people do actually see the point of it.

Only 50,000 Kuga's OTR

This is your car, Merlin, isn't it? :D

Owned a Juke for just over a year. Typically only ever drove by myself or with one passenger. Not easy with anything more than that.

Fantastic hatchback with excellent equipment for the price. I had the Dig-T so it had plenty of poke, too. Subsequently went for an E46 330i after that, so the Juke, through no fault of it's own, would ultimately pale in comparison.

If the Puke Juke had a BMW badge in it then some here would be saying how great the car is and yada yada.

I normally like quirky and oddly styled cars, but the Juke IMO is over styled, but still miles more interesting then the boring rubbish that is filled up on the roads, much rather see a Puke go by then a snoozefest Audi. The Juke is supposed to be an alternative to your regular hatches, not some off roading beast and I rather have Jukes on our roads then pointless horrible Chelsea tractors clogging up the roads when none of them will ever face any mud.

X1? X3?

Cars similar to the Joke and they are just as foul.

So you're wrong.

I'm starting to hate all Juke drivers. They all insist on having all their lights turned on including their fog lights so all you see are two columns of 3 lights trying to blind you. This happened earlier and it wasn't even that dark :/.

Nathwraith is gradually justifying one to himself bit by bit as they get mentioned on the forums :p

I don't mind them, I would be fine with my Mrs owning one, jap reliability, seem like they would be safe and nice solid cars, I wouldn't want one though unless it was the Nismo version but not at the current pricing
