No 780Ti for me:(

Thanks for reassurance and kaps post too, not going to ever go more than two cards so I should be fine then, just wondering if a 860i would still be enough for two 780ti's?

I'm sure a 860i would be enough, but I wouldn't do massive oc's with the 780ti's. Otherwise a 860i would be just fine. I like that little extra room, so my next one will be a 1000 watt or higher, but tbh 1000 watt will be plenty for me:)

Sorry for the slight thread hijack, in terms of tri sli, would the older style gold AX1200 cope? That is my biggest wattage PSU and I was wondering about tri 780s. Bearing in mind the 3930k is often at 5 ghz during benching and the Gpus at near 1.35v when OCed. Would a superflower 1200w plat be necessary or go for a 1500w unit? Or go dual 1000w/1200w like Kaap?

I'm running 2 780s and an overclocked 4770K with a Seasonic 850W Gold rated PSU, so I'd have thought 2 TI's would be fine on an 860i

The original AX1200 copes no problem, I had one b4 upgrading to the AX1200i :(

Old style was good should be fine.

I have 4770k at 4.4 and 2 780s with evga 1000w platinum, works wonders and have plenty of spare watts. I guess you'd be ok as well.

A very silly video

TTL is a real Noob when it comes to PSUs (by his own admission)

Give me that exact rig he was using, GPUTweak for the card and a copy of Firestrike Extreme or 3dmark Vantage and it will be no problem to get the demand for watts well past 450w.

I do like TTL though, his reviews go much further than some others and he does seem to cover much more than those short 2 minute wonders although I do like to watch tastyPCTV :D

PSU is just over a year old. Will call ocuk for them to RMA the PSU. Will buy new one before I upgrade. Which one do you have Greg?

XFX 1050W Black Edition. It is Seasonic made but I can't recommend it because it is XFX and they are horrible to deal with.

It may be a volts thing, I was using around 1.375v with my 290Xs when my 1200i shutdown.:D

Here is how I solved my problem with the 290Xs.:D

show s a full pic please!!

Wouldn't the SuperFlower 1000 watt be enough?

I also like the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W 80+ Platinum I think 1200 would be a little too much I'm only going to do small OC's. so if I want colorued cables I'll have to use BitFenix Braided Cables I guess.

EVGA or Superflower?

The Evga uses Superflower to build them, thats why I got it :) I now need crossfire R9 290's to get the most out of it :P
