No GT5 until 2009...!!!

LOL

See you on the track.....

You're on. When's the US/UK versions being released on PSN? I have the Japanese import on disc but I'm giving it to a guy who works for me who Japanese (maybe he can make sense of all those weird symbols all over the screen

So the western version of GT5P has more cars etc?

What is it with sony and the GT games getting delayed so much? Didn't the last version have most of the online stuff hacked out of it and it was still months late?

Your'e On

Cool thanks for the info. So were getting 60 cars

No confirmation yet for UK features or indeed date but presumably the same features with a March 28th release going by retailers.

The USA site also states 6 tracks with 12 routes not 5 tracks and 10 routes.
Tuning is also a new feature. However its very likely with all this content that the single player game will not be the same but even bigger than the Jap release which had 3 main categories and 24 events.

Quite frankly GT5P is likely to be the best value game thats going to appear this year.

Is G25 the wheel? I don't use a wheel but prefer just using the controller. Many moons ago, I was really into the F1GP series on PC and spent a couple of hundred quid on a really good steering wheel, but it was sooo different to using what I was used to (keyboard at the time) that I just couldn't get on with it - I fear it will be the same for GT5 as well.:(

Theyve been keeping on track (pun intended) with this title much better than previous games.
GT5P actually released on the 18th of December so was only 5 days late to its planned release date.

Just to put that in context, when was that picture released? if it's 2006, then I agree, it's pretty accurate, but if it's mid 2007 onwards, well it's sort of just stating the facts a little?

I've held off the Jap release and looking forward to the UK release, as I've gone back and re-done Forza 2 due to loosing my save games..

I have played the game with the pad and even bought a Dual Shock3 but this is an entirely different and much, much more enjoyable game with the wheel. Particulary the G25 which has fantastic FFB and precise smooth steering. The new official wheel im sure will also be very good with it.

Be warned even though the vast majority of players will be using pads people on pads havnt a hope in hell getting anywhere close to the top TT times or in online races against good wheel drivers. Also the Jap release doesnt display what control method has been used. Expect to be anything from 1 sec - 3 secs a lap slower than a good wheel user unles your really, really good with a pad.

Some of us proved this on AVF

Right, to hell with the delay. To hell with the hype from the drooling GT fanboys and fangirls. To hell with it all. But could we please, please, please get "The Ultimate Driving Simulator" like we keep getting promised? Because it's got to be better than the arcadey unrealistic crap that Sony/Polyphony have foisted on us so far....seriously. Is it not time that the console mob became as discerning as those of us who spend our weekends running races with Grand Prix Legends, NR2003, LFS and rFactor online?

No?

Okay, maybe just me then. But for the love of God, can we stop convincing impressionable young idiots that the Skyline is the Ultimate Car Of Great Justice™ through these crappy games? Please?

:)

I honestly don't give a toss if I offend the aforementioned GT fanboys and fangirls, because they are beyond saving. But I seriously am hoping that this instalment actually exceeds my (lowish) expectations.

Ngh.....okay, after consultation with some friends, I might have been a tad too harsh. Operative word being "might" - I don't think I was, but some people do. I'm still in the position of being terribly disappointed by every single title in the GT series, but I do live in eternal hope that one day (one glorious day) they actually make a simulator as opposed to a tarted-up arcade game.
