No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

You just need to stand on one...lolz.

Just tried that, wow .!
Until you get pushed off, or you try and grab the one you're stood on.

Using the scan function when flying low over a planet reveals nothing now, or so it seems.
You used to get a red dot to signify a crashed ship once in a while now I have never seen one that way.

Agreed. Has happened each time I've done it. Back to building walls.

Noticed the max amount of upgrades you can add is 3 (as mentioned in this thread before). But this doesnt seem to apply if you put the upgrades first, then the weapon/utility and then more upgrades. Maybe it's a bug so will play around with it a bit more.

not played in a while, does the addon still exist that didnt require you to use resources for the rocket boosters when taking off? used to really annoy me having to constantly mlne just for the basus task of landund/taking off

I think there are mods yes.

You could just upgrade your ship so it uses less fuel for such tasks?

It's not that much of a hassle. Launch fuel is pretty cheap/ easy to make and once you get mods that reduce usage it's even easier.

Eventually I did start over but only because someone told me about the dup glitch.

Still had to do a crap load of stupid missions again though, but it's not all bad.

Eventually found my first crashed ship, went over to a planet in the Gek system as I fancied finding a Hauler....

....would it still be "cheaper" to try and trade the above ship in than to try and patch it up over time...? To trade for something comparable I would need around 13M in cash, for a C class Hauler, the above being a B class.

I just fixed the engines needed to get it to a space station.

I fixed up a ship. one thing I didn't realise, is say value of the ship would be 50m if it was undamaged, but in its damaged state its only worth 8m, if you spend all the time and resources to fix it up, when you trade it in its still only worth 8m for some reason :(

Because of the above, id just chop it in I think.

Points taken. But I compared the above B class hauler to trade for a C class hauler that landed in the space station where I am docked. It did not have as good bonus for the shields and manoeuvrability BUT I would have needed to put 13M to trade to it.
I have spent around 30 minutes or so buying from ships that land and the space station and done a lot of repairs and many of the slots and yet only spent around 1.8 million.
Unless I'm getting this wrong I am getting a better deal, and enjoying the fun of doing the repairs, by not trading with what I have.

I did note that the damages slots are not factored when trading, hence why I only bothered to get the engines going needed to get me to the space station.

Is this still worth getting into now? Been considering it. Not sure if my aging system is up to the job though, built in 2010 !

Is it playable with keyboard and mouse or is there a lot of flight involved where you really need sticks?

Absolutely doesn't need any sticks for flight, it's very basic.
