I can't find a Portal 2 thread, I've done a search but it's not picking it up. Am I looking wrong?

Would be amazed if their isn't one! Who's picking this up tomorrow?

Portal was amazing and I only played it on 360. I won't be buying Portal 2 because I think its too pricey for such a short game but I WILL be renting.

I must be missing something but personally I can't see the appeal either, fair enough when it was just an add on to Half Life but a dedicated game? Can someone fill me in?

Its just fun to play? I purposely haven't looked into much about Portal 2 because in the first game there were a lot of surprises and funny moments, especially the dialogue with GlaDOS, I don't want to ruin anything.

Got a friend to buy the two-pack so we got it a for £24 each making it marginally more worth it. At the moment it's not really worth the money, but the SDK/modtools will make that up I hope.

9 hours single player and 7 hours co-op is a short game, especially considering the replay value?

I've had Portal 2 on PS3 in my basket (online basket that is ;)) allday, still unsure if I should click on the order button..

It's set in the same world as half life, it is a company (Aperture Science) who are doing testing with a portal gun and you are a subject. This game is incredible and I recommend it to everyone. You might like the fact Steve Merchant voices one of the main character robots in it and does a brilliant job.

Are you sure their goal was to test the portal gun? I thought they were testing the way humans acted in certain situations, then using this to develop AI.

I wouldn't bother with co-op purely because you can never get a reliable partner and playing with randoms is boring. So for just a single play through (not played Portal 1 more than once, as great as it was) £35-40 is just too much.

It costs the same as any other game...

Are people just moaning because the original Portal shipped as part of The Orange Box, so it was like it was included for free?

At the end of the day, this sequel is a fully featured sequel and I would imagine will have similar play time to any other AAA release.

I pre-ordered, infact it shipped yesterday so am hoping it's in my mailbox, but working late tonight.

At the end of the day, it's a no brainer because when has Valve not released something great?

I should probably also mention that all the reviews I've seen so far say it's fantastic:

IGN 95
Eurogamer 100
Edge 90

Portal is perfect. Portal 2 is not. It's something better than that. It's human: hot-blooded, silly, poignant, irreverent, base, ingenious and loving. It's never less than a pure video game, but it's often more, and it will no doubt stand as one of the best entertainments in any medium at the end of this year. It's a masterpiece.
