What is the idea of the current 'trend' of fellas going out of their house/flat/bedsit with no socks on? Is it happening in the North or just down here in the South? Good looking guys in expensive outfits and no socks, go figure!

Sort of related but a guy was walking around the office today with no shoes on. Next time he does it I'm dropping a fire extinguisher on his toes.

I am sure I remember reading a couple of months ago that this was a really bad idea

There would seem to have been some really serious health consequences from doing this (Up to and including Gangrene! :eek:

)

I would suggest don't do it!

I sometimes don't put socks on when I'm in the house. It helps letting them air more instead of being trapped up all day, and saves a pair of socks from becoming dirty. I do always end up with my slippers on though if I don't have socks on

its been a 'hipster' thing for about a decade or so

though in the last few years there seems to have been a big increase in beards and loafers with no socks...

I have to admit to doing this a few days ago. But not through choice. I was wearing some suede loafers with shorts so didn't want to wear socks. Instead I had a pair of "invisible" socks on (the kind that fit over your feet but don't come up high enough to be seen). But they kept coming off my foot and drove me nuts. So I threw them away and carried on sockless. But I hate not wearing socks as it feels sticky
