hey all need some ideas on how to fix this issue and what caused this problem. Im getting no sound from any 3.5mm jacks back or front after i did a clean re install. Optical audio works fine. Everything was working before I did format. Motherboard is ASUS P8Z68 V LX

So far I have done the following:
Using the default windows driver
driver from asus website
realtek HD audio r2.71 driver
rebuilt hardware and running bare minimum
enabled/disabled/enabled Realtek audio from bios
disabled audio enhancement from windows
used different speakers ( 2 different earphones and standard speaker all of them 100% working with other devices)

None of them worked for some reason. If I do a sound test or play a music file the green bars move up and down. Realtek HD audio manager detects the speaker (green circle is lit). Also i noticed that the pink circle icon in Realtek HD Manager is lit like a mic is connected even though there is none. Also tried disconnecting the front panel from the board and the pink circle is still lit:confused:

u mean this one ? I tried different options but nothing worked. I can only move the tick up/down and cannot do an 'untick'

Did you resolve this issue? I think my Windows 7 machine has done an update and I don't get anything now. Before updating my audio drivers it was refusing to accept that I had speakers plugged in at all. Very frustrating!

unfortunately no :( . I couldnt get it to work. I gave up using the analog jacks and just use the optical
