NO space - help!

There's a program called Tuneup utilities. If you buy/download that there's a feature which enables you to delete your hibernation file (mine was 17GB last I checked!) and delete any restore points. Deleting the later isn't usually recommended but if you're strapped for space then you can clear up between 2-8GB more from that.

I never use hibernation and find it utterly pointless.

yeah, its my thread!

When i bought this SSD (it was nearly 2 years ago), i can assure you i could not get 128GB for that price. That is about what i paid for my 40GB if memory serves me right.

It may be cheap but is it any good?

:-) Have you actioned any of the suggestions? Turning of hibernation etc?

You've received plenty of useful advice. What else do you need?

The M4 is a cracking drive.

system restore was turned off a while back, hibernation, etc, all system restore points have been binned, only thing i havent done is looked at enabling NTFS compression, will have a read up on the implications first.

looks like i may have to buy the M4 ;-)

thanks for all the help with this, much appreciated!

40GB is plenty big enough for windows and all of it updates. it shouldn't use more than 20-25GB at the very most. i'm using 24GB but 4GB of that is my pagefile plus over 1GB for office. i have hibernation & system restore disabled and all my games/documents/music/video etc on another drive.

my mans got it on lock ;D
